THE ALASKA SURVEY 4TH QUARTER 2016 Hello, my name is _________ and I'm calling for Alaska Survey Research, an Alaska public opinion research firm. We are conducting a public opinion survey today called the Alaska Survey. The survey concerns a variety of different topics that you’ll probably find interesting. IF CELLPHONE RESPONDENT… We’d like to get your input to the survey as a cellphone respondent. We’ve deliberately called you on the weekend so that hopefully we’re not using up your minutes, and we’d like to ask if you can safely respond to the survey where you are right now. IF LANDLINE RESPONDENT… Is this a residential telephone? IF "YES", CONTINUE... If they are available, I’d like to speak with the youngest male aged 18 or older in your household. (IF AVAILABLE, SWITCH AND REPEAT INTRO. IF NOT AVAILABLE…) How about the youngest female aged 18 or older? (IF AVAILABLE, SWITCH AND REPEAT INTRO. IF NOT AVAILABLE, CONTINUE WITH RESPONDENT.) All phone numbers used for this survey were randomly generated. We don’t know your name, but your opinions are important to us, and we'd appreciate your participation if that's OK with you. Of course, your responses will be completely confidential. S1. • List of Directv Channels (United States)
List of DirecTV channels (United States) Below is a numerical representation of the current DirecTV national channel lineup in the United States. Some channels have both east and west feeds, airing the same programming with a three-hour delay on the latter feed, creating a backup for those who missed their shows. The three-hour delay also represents the time zone difference between Eastern (UTC -5/-4) and Pacific (UTC -8/-7). All channels are the East Coast feed if not specified. High definition Most high-definition (HDTV) and foreign-language channels may require a certain satellite dish or set-top box. Additionally, the same channel number is listed for both the standard-definition (SD) channel and the high-definition (HD) channel, such as 202 for both CNN and CNN HD. DirecTV HD receivers can tune to each channel separately. This is required since programming may be different on the SD and HD versions of the channels; while at times the programming may be simulcast with the same programming on both SD and HD channels. Part time regional sports networks and out of market sports packages will be listed as ###-1. Older MPEG-2 HD receivers will no longer receive the HD programming. Special channels In addition to the channels listed below, DirecTV occasionally uses temporary channels for various purposes, such as emergency updates (e.g. Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike information in September 2008, and Hurricane Irene in August 2011), and news of legislation that could affect subscribers. The News Mix channels (102 and 352) have special versions during special events such as the 2008 United States Presidential Election night coverage and during the Inauguration of Barack Obama.

  • DISH Network Satellite Television Brings Local TV Channels to Anchorage, Alaska
DISH Network Satellite Television Brings Local TV Channels to Anchorage, Alaska Littleton, Colo., Aug. 28, 2003 – EchoStar Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH) announced today that its DISH Network™ now offers local TV channels by satellite television to Anchorage, Alaska. The following local TV channels will be offered: ABC Ch. 13 (KIMO), CBS Ch. 11 (KTVA), FOX Ch. 4 (KTBY), PAX Ch. 33 (KDMD), UPN Ch. 5 (KYES) and PBS Ch. 7 (KAKM). This is the first time local TV channels are available by satellite TV in the Anchorage area, providing an alternative to local cable TV service from General Communication Inc. (GCI) Cable. Local channels will be offered at a $1 per month discount to the regular price of $5.99 per month for DISH Network customers in Anchorage until the local NBC station is added to the package. Seattle NBC channel 5 (KING) will be offered to eligible subscribers in Anchorage in September who reside in an area unserved by local broadcasters. For those customers eligible to receive NBC Seattle, the regular local TV package price of $5.99 per month will take effect. Dish antenna sizes may vary depending on the location. "DISH Network customers now have a more affordable alternative to cable in Anchorage," said Michael Schwimmer, senior vice president of Programming at EchoStar. "DISH Network provides local news, weather and sports in 100 percent digital quality to viewers who should not be left with cable service as their only choice for local television." DISH Network offers local channels via satellite to Anchorage customers in three Alaska boroughs: Anchorage, Kenai Peninsula and Matanuska-Susitna.
