I got a case of the giggles at points, though, so that's always The Devil is a Part-Timer! High School!: Vol. 3 good sign. As the summary on the book says, this is just a spin-off of the original series, re-imagining the Devil is a Part Timer characters as high school students instead. It's a fairly basic high school rom com, so that's not really what makes it stand out. What makes it amusing is seeing the characters I already knew as a fast-food worker, a "house husband," and a call-center clerk as high I'm not sure what to make of this one. What The Devil is a Part-Timer! High School!: Vol. 3 it amusing is seeing the characters I already knew as a fast- food worker, a "house husband," and a call-center clerk as high schoolers and a school janitor. It's got the same sense of humor as the original, just changed to high school. If you like the original this spun off of, you'll probably get a kick out of this one. Sep 28, Kathleen rated it really liked it. A quick read, cute and funny. Everyone seems to be trying really hard! Aug 14, Helen rated it liked it Shelves: first-reads. I won this book as part of a giveaway contest. I haven't read the original series, but it looked really interesting, so I thought that I would give this book a go. Definitely a fun book. I hope that the two female leads become friends, not rivals! There is definitely potential for the series, but I think that I will have to read the next few volumes be I won this book as part of a giveaway contest. There is definitely potential for the series, but I think that I will have to read the next few volumes before I give a definite opinion. Aug 22, Angela rated it liked it Shelves: firstreads. I won this book as part of the Goodreads First-Read program. It's hard to find a well written spin-off series so I generally tend to avoid them altogether. However because I love the original series so much I wanted to take a chance on this one. The first half left me feeling a bit disappointed because the story felt choppy. It didn't spend nearly enough time letting you get to know the characters. The last few chapters are where things started The Devil is a Part-Timer! High School!: Vol. 3 pick up and were actually very good. I hope that I won this book as part of the Goodreads First-Read program. I hope that the next volume will be able to pick up where this one left off. Feb 14, Kat added it. This was adorable. If you ever imagined what it would be like if the characters from DIPT were The Devil is a Part-Timer! High School!: Vol. 3 in high school, this is it. Better than the manga, at least. I was expecting the manga to go into more detail than the anime, and was disappointed. The anime was freaking amazing, okay. Anyway, I should probably check out the original novels, since they came first. Dec 06, Aryeh rated it liked it. So, the devil king of a certain far away world suddenly finds himself as a Japanese high school student on Earth, a world where none of his former powers any longer work. This is the story of how he decides to rise to power the 'logical' way, by running for student council and working in the cafeteria. Very cute. This is a spin off from the series 'The Devil is a Part-Timer', which has become popular in both manga and anime circles. Oct 19, Jason rated it really liked The Devil is a Part-Timer! High School!: Vol. 3 Shelves: mangacomics-and-graphic-novelsfor-teens-and-adultsschoolromance. Best I can figure, this is an alternate-reality spinoff of The Devil is a Part-Timer! High School!: Vol. 3 Devil is a Part Timer Series that takes place entirely in a high school setting. I'm a fan of the original manga series so was a little skeptical about this initially, but the characters are well-designed and so work well in this alternate setting. I imagine fans of the series would be excited about this spinoff as it gives them more stories in a what if? Nov 20, Jeanette rated it really liked it Shelves: graphic-manga- comicslibrary. I read this to see if it was okay for my 9 year old daughter. I passed it on to her but my son said as the series go on it isn't appropriate for her. I enjoyed the start of this series. Devil king gets sent to this realm. His enemy also comes across. They proceed from there. Only there The Devil is a Part-Timer! High School!: Vol. 3 to be an attraction. Or maybe just a tiny flirtation. I imagine as the series goes on this will make more sense. Sep 01, Margo rated it it was ok Shelves: first-reads. I received this book for an honest review. I really enjoy graphic novels but I have to say this one was a bit hard to get into. I have not read the series that it spin off of so that may be part of it. I just felt like it was saying the same things over and over though it did pick up there at the end. Aug 22, Christina rated it it was ok Shelves: manga. A spin-off from another series, not enough plot or character development for this to work on its own. Story was difficult to follow for the first half, but did improve a bit in the last two chapters. Aug 29, Yuiko rated it it was amazing. Loved it. Pretty decent, but it was just all the same for most part. Just instead of work, it is now school. Not sure if I will continue with this one.
