Literature I. The 39 Clues: Maze of Bones A. Students will watch a slide show of ch. 10-11 vocabulary words B. Students will read ch. 10-11 C. Students will respond to the following prompt: If you could be related to one famous person (living or dead), who would it be? Why? D. Students will share their responses with the class

Wednesday, Purpose I. I can understand content area vocabulary II. I can read and discuss ch. 12-13 of 39 Clues: Maze of Bones

Bell Work – LA vocab: sentence fragment, run-on sentence, stringy sentence

Literature I. 39 Clues: Maze of Bones A. Students will watch a slide show of ch. 12-13 vocabulary words B. Studnets will read ch. 12-13 in PALS

Thursday, Purpose I. I can identify adjective strings and rewrite sentences so that adjectives are not written in a row II. I can take notes about poetry

Library – Students will go to the library from 8:15-8:35

Literature I. Poetry Movie A. Students will watch a movie about poetry and take notes

Language Arts I. Adjective Strings A. As students enter the classroom, they will be given a piece of paper with one word on it. B. Students will have to come to the front of the room and create a human sentence. C. The class will discuss the use of adjective strings in the sentence and suggest ways to change the sentence so that the adjectives are not written in one long list. D. Students will be given mentor sentences that have adjective strings and they will have to rewrite the sentences.

Class will discuss the difference it makes when the adjective clauses are added D. Students will complete a worksheet where they must identify adjective clauses in sentences
