The University of Bergamo, which boasts over 20 years of academic teaching and research in the field of travel and tourism, offers a Master Course in Tourism: Progettazione e Gestione dei Sistemi Turistici, with two curricula: “Turismo, Società e Sistemi Digitali” (in Italian and English), and “International Tourism and Local Governance” (in English) characterized by a strong multidisciplinary perspective. The teaching staff, made of Professors with a high scientific profile, is from the University of Bergamo and from internationally recognized European and American Universities and Research Centres of excellence. Lorenzo Canova Lorenzo Canova is Professor of Sociology of Tourism in local development; since 2005 he is in charge of Workshops on Methodology and Tourism Planning. Since 1993 he is Member of AIEST (International Association of Scientific Experts of Tourism); since 2010 he is Member of SISTUR (Società italiana di Studiosi del Turismo). He has been teaching in Master Courses related to Tourism Planning in Italian Universities (Roma, Milano, Cosenza, Camerino, Catania). He regularly presents papers at national and international conferences. He is among the founders and Presidents of ACTA, an association located in Milano specialised in Sustainable Tourism Planning. He has been working on experimental programmes with a number of DGs of the European Commission. He is former Vice-President, and now senior adviser, of ECOTRANS, a European

network that promotes research and good practices in sustainable tourism. Rosanna Pavoni She teaches “Museum and Territory” at the PGST Master’s Degree. Art Historian, she has directed the House Museum Bagatti Valsecchi in Milan until 2002. Elected Secretary of the International Committee of Historic House Museums (DEMHIST/ICOM) in 1999, she became its President in February 2002: she launched the research about the different typologies of house museums and has contributed to defining the identity and mission of house museums worldwide. In 2010 her book Case Museo in Italia has been translated in English (House Museums in Italy. New cultural itineraries: poetry, history, art, architecture, music, arts & crafts, tastes and traditions, Gangemi, Roma). She has created the museological structure of Museo Adriano Bernareggi Diocesi di Bergamo.
