BOYS SOCCER OFF TO HOT START

The East Noble Boys Soccer team is off to one of the best starts in recent memory. The Knights are 6-

2, with one loss coming on the road in a highly competitive conference match with Huntington North, and the other on PK’s at Leo. That not only

leaves the Knights with only 2 defeats, but also still in the thick of the conference race with 4 NE8 matches left to play down the stretch.

The Knights took down rival-DeKalb at home last week to earn a conference win. Senior Forward,

Michael Klein, has been a scoring threat nearly every time he has touched the ball early on this season and has been one of the catalysts to the team’s

success. “The season has gotten off to a great start,” said Klein. “We are looking forward to the rest of the season and what it holds for us.” The Knights will face a historically strong opponent at West Noble on Saturday.

GIRLS SOCCER: defense stays solid

The Lady Knights Soccer team has had an outstanding showing on the defensive side of the ball in 4 of their last 6 games. One of those 3 games

was a 1-0 loss to Blackhawk Christian on a goal scored in the final minute of the game. Another loss was 1-0 to Huntington North and the final one a 0-0

tie with Angola.

We have started to figure out our defense and how to mark people properly,” said Head Coach Brian Rexroad. “Now we need to hone-in on offense and start scoring some goals.”

The Knights still have 4 conference games the

rest of the way and will look to move into the thick of the NE8 race. Two of those 4 games will be at home.

EN will also make trips to Garrett and Columbia City down the stretch before hosting the sectional in early October.

GIRLS GOLF building for conference/sectional

The East Noble Girls Golf team continues to build on the last few years of progress. With a trio of Junior and a

Senior in the starting line-up, the last 3 years of experience is producing positive dividends on the links. The Knights have already posted sub-400 scores in two 18-hole invitationals. The Knights have only posted sub-400 scores a handful of times in the last 3 seasons.

EN also has a 2-stroke Conference victory on the road, posting a 191-193 victory over Norwell at Timber Ridge GC in Bluffton. The Knights will only play 1 more match away from the friendly confines of Noble Hawk and Cobblestone the rest of the season, that being the NE8 Conference Tournament at Bellmont.

“We have had several girls post their best 9- & 18-hole scores this year,” said Coach Nate Young. “We are looking forward to our Conference Tournament and Sectionals.”
