  • CCA1103: Creativity: Theory, Practice and History
CCA1103: Creativity: Theory, Practice and History Creative Project: Project Proposal Dillon Shaikh Overview Perth Glory FC has devised a competition to design their official third kit for use in the 2014/15 Hyundai A-League season. This competition is designed as a way of involving Perth’s football community into producing an Australian/West-Australian themed third kit which will be worn by the Perth Glory players on the Australia Day long weekend game against Melbourne Victory at nib Stadium on January 25th, 2015 (“Design Our Australia Day Kit!,” 2014, August 28.). Perth Glory has stated that they want a kit that symbolises the “pride of Australia’s football public” (“Design Our Australia Day Kit!,” 2014, August 28.). The game that takes place on the Australia Day long-weekend is known as the “Peoples Game” and is an event that celebrates the people who have made football great in Western Australia (“Design Our Australia Day Kit!,” 2014, August 28.). The event will largely acknowledge the importance and contribution of the fans, and those associated within the WA football community (“Design Our Australia Day Kit!,” 2014, August 28.). The winning design will be showcased to hundreds of thousands of television viewer’s via Foxtel, be placed on the cover of the Matchday magazine, and the competition winner will also have the chance to be on the pitch moments before kick-off (“Design Our Australia Day Kit!,” 2014, August 28.). As well as designing this third kit for the Perth Glory competition, my project is going to be a third kit design for all 10 teams in the Hyundai A-League (“A-League,” n.d.).

  • 2919 FC Seoul V
Tribunal Arbitral du Sport Court of Arbitration for Sport Arbitration CAS 2012/A/2919 FC Seoul v. Newcastle Jets FC, award of 24 September 2013 Panel: Mr Efraim Barak (Israel), Sole arbitrator Football Training compensation CAS jurisdiction Interruption of a limitation period Standing to be sued of a club under the management and operation of a new licensee 1. If an appeal is lodged against a final decision passed by one of FIFA’s legal bodies against the entity which was a party to the proceedings at FIFA, CAS has jurisdiction to hear and decide the case. Whether or not the entity is the correct one and has indeed standing to be sued is to be adjudicated with the merits of the case. 2. In principle, subsidiary applicable Swiss law does not supersede or supplant all aspects of the regulations of FIFA. With respect to the limitation period of two years set out in article 25(5) of the FIFA Regulations, there is no provision providing for the consequences of a possible amicable agreement between parties to postpone the due date for payment of certain amounts. There is also no provision providing for the possible interruption of the prescription period or a provision specifically determining that the limitation period of two years can under no circumstances be interrupted. In this regard, where the FIFA Regulations contain a lacuna, or at least an ambiguity, in the spirit of good relations that should be encouraged in the world of sport, it must be possible for a limitation period to be interrupted in case the parties have mutually agreed on a new payment schedule, especially if the debtor asked for it and the creditor in bona fide relies on such new payment schedule.

  • Many Distinctive Australian Words Have Been Driven to Or Near To
Many distinctive Australian words have been driven to or near to extinction in recent decades under the homogenising influence of mass media and imported culture, because of changes in fashion, or have fallen into disuse as society changes. Those who like or use these words regret their passing but informal vocabulary is by nature ephemeral. Others who use these words do so ironically. Some examples: . around the traps – around one's usual haunts. Formerly quite common, but now declining. It was famously used by ARL boss Ken Arthurson when news of a Super league was emerging in Rugby League during the 90's, "Word around the traps". Bodgie – a male member of a 1950s rock 'n' roll subculture, somewhat similar to the US greasers and British rockers. Now only historical. bonzer – excellent (almost extinct). Probably from the Spanish word bonanza, by way of American English. Also spelt bonza. cobber – friend, mate, "G'day, cobber". Not frequently used. cooee! – a shouted greeting or long-distance contact call, used as when searching for a lost person, esp. in the bush. Also in the colloquial phrase "not within cooee", meaning "a long way off". Used in conversation to recapture the attention of someone you were talking to. "Cooeee Brian, are you listening?" Once ubiquitous, now becoming less common. traps, trappers or jacks – police. These Australianisms have been largely replaced by the international cops, coppers, pigs or bacon. However the older, more affectionate wallopers is also still used. drongo – an idiot (usage in decline). Either referring to the drongo bird which have extravagantly flared tails and cavort noisily in groups as part of their mating habits, but also, possibly an indirect derivation, from the name of a remarkably unsuccessful racehorse.
