Please remember in prayer

In the world: • At this harvest time, the 795 million people in the world who do not have enough food to lead a healthy, active life. • The continuing steps that are being taken to combat climate change.

In the community and society: • Our local surgeries and their staff. • The work of Foodbank and The Passage.

The sick: Jenny Bird, Gavin Hubbard.

Those who have died: William Fearn (Priskilla and all the family) Rest eternal grant to unto them, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon them.

The Collect & Post-communion for Trinity fifteen: Lord God, defend your Church from all false teaching and give to your people knowledge of your truth, that we may enjoy eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Keep, O Lord, your Church, with your perpetual mercy; and, because without you our human frailty cannot but fall, keep us ever by your help from all things hurtful, and lead us to all things profitable to our salvation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. this week we celebrate the life and witness of Saint Francis of Assisi, founder of the friars Minor, the Order of St Clare and the third order of St Francis. He espoused a life of poverty, care for people and respect for the earth, which has much to teach us today in our ecological crisis. "Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life." Amen.
