National ACS Spring Virtual Meeting

The ACS Spring National ACS Meeting, with the theme Macromolecular Chemistry: The Second Century, April 5-16, 2021, will be virtual. Registration is now open. Complete information can be found on the main ACS webpage.

Graduate Research Symposium (GRS) – Call for Nominations

The DOC Graduate Research Symposium will take place July 15-18 at Macalester College, Minnesota. This symposium provides an opportunity for 50-75 graduate students in organic chemistry to interact with leaders from academia, industry, funding agencies, and publishers. Students must be completing their fourth year of graduate study. Registration is provided by the Division of Organic Chemistry and travel funds are available. The application/nomination deadline is March 2. Complete details can be found at the GRS webpage.

Leete Award Nominations are due May 7

The Leete Award recognizes outstanding contributions to teaching and research in Organic Chemistry. Nominees must be members of the Organic Division of the American Chemical Society who have made outstanding contributions to both teaching and research. Teaching should be considered in the broadest sense, including of professional chemists, the dissemination of information about chemistry to prospective chemists, to members of the profession, to students in other areas and to the general public. A nominee must also have accomplished outstanding creative work in any area of organic chemistry. Full details are available at the award webpage. The nomination deadline is May 7.

Regional ACS Meetings

Northwest Regional Meeting (NORM). NORM 2021, organized by Western Washington University (Bellingham, WA) and hosted by the ACS Puget Sound Section will be held virtually May 9–11. Organizers at WWU will host online technical symposia, poster sessions, and a vibrant exposition. Thanks to generous sponsors, student registration for NORM 2021 will be FREE and only a nominal registration fee will charged for other attendees. Complete information can be found on the NORM 2021 website.

Great Lakes Regional Meeting (GLRM). The ACS virtual Great Lakes Regional Meeting, GLRM 2021, will be held June 6-9. With the theme Elevating the Importance of Diversity and Inclusion in Chemistry, early registration is $25 and abstracts are due March 1. Complete information can be found on the GLRM 2021 website.

Middle Atlantic Regional Meeting (MARM). The virtual Middle Atlantic Regional Meeting (MARM, Driving Innovation) will take place June 9-12.
