“Summer Sampler” Style Characteristics Presentation And Studio Series Join us as we begin our Members Only Summer Sampler Series. We are starting off with a bang-up evening! Patti Goke will be spending time with us on July 26 discussing the characteristics of the many different rosemaling styles. If you ever wanted to have someone explain how to tell Telemark from Gudbrandsdal, and Rogaland from Hallingdal, along with learning the characteristics of other rosemaling styles, here’s your opportunity. • Date/Schedule: Monday, July 26, 6:30 – 8:30 PM CDT. • Teacher’s Name: Patti Goke Level: Beginner and up • Venue: Zoom Style: Several Medium: No paint, presentation only • Description: Presentation of rosemaling styles and their characteristics • Fee: None, it’s a member perk! Membership must be current to join. • Introduction to our “Summer Sampler Studio”, Monday nights in August. About the Instructor Patti Goke of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, has been rosemaling for over 30 years and has taken many classes with American and Norwegian artists. One of her rosemaling experiences was painting in the Raftevold Hotel in Hornindal, Nordfjord, Norway. Patti is a Vesterheim Gold Medalist, Vesterheim Rosemaling Letter editor, and contributor of rosemaling articles and projects for Art Apprentice Online e-zine. She was the guide for Vesterheim’s 2014 and 2016 Folk Art Tours to Norway. About the Presentation Remember, there is no fee for this one-night presentation, it’s a member perk! Next Up… Every Monday in August join in the Members Only Studio Series, “Summer Sampler”. Take this opportunity to try a sampler project. You can choose one of Jan Boettcher’s coaster sets, try your hand at a self-designed tray from Mike Lusk, or create your own project. By participating in the Summer Sampler Studio Series you can ask questions of or offer support to other INRA members as you complete your project. • Dates/Schedule: August 2 - 30, weekly, 5 Mondays, 6:30 – 9:30 PM CDT. • Teacher’s Name: None Level: Beginner and up – All members welcome. • Venue: Zoom Style: You decide. Medium: You decide. • Project description: Sampler, choose a coaster set or tray or your own project. • Join other INRA members for painting and conversation as you are able. • Fee: None, it’s a member perk! Membership must be current to join. • Additional Estimated Costs: Coaster set - $40, or Tray - $25, or none, you decide.
