She loves her mind and she knows she's brilliant. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Leave a Reply Cancel reply Enter your comment here As his plans unfold, there'll be major revelations about Luna's abilities! Does it capture my imagination and vibe with my personal taste? Marvel even has to step in and break up their squabbles. The character is a little girl riding a giant dinosaur in the streets of New York City. Rather than making it an issue in the comic, the writers just go with it plus, it was fun to have her interaction with Ms. Plus, Moon Girl gets to be totally unhinged and rage-y, which as we all know is not a thing we often allow women of color to do and be in literature and other media. Your question required. It's a big change up that will see Luna spending a freaky Friday or whatever day it happens to be as Devil Dinosaur, and vice versa! Marvel gives Moon Girl a message about accepting herself but Moon Girl is more concerned that she's made herself look silly in front of her hero. Throughout the volume, I felt like this series would have made a really good animated cartoon when I was growing up. Our heroine, Lunella Lafayette, is the cutest nine-year-old you'll ever meet, and definitely the smartest. Lunella's got a huge future in the Marvel Universe, if only she can survive the present! Mar 20, Kathleen rated it it was amazing Shelves: mind-candy , young-adult , , comics. The true origin of Marc Spector - revealed at last! Overall, feeling like the first volume was very by the books, the second one has managed to built and improve on it. Accepting who you are is hard for anyone, but making friends, even non-human ones, can help. Getaway by Jeff Kinney , Hardcover 5. And who exactly is Moon Girl's new 9-year-old archnemesis, Kid Kree? Lunella also meets Kid Kree and Ms. Her life is about to get complicated, however, when a Kree Omni-Wave Projector falls into her hands and I was enjoying it well enough for the first half, but by the second, view spoiler [particularly when Kamala Khan shows up, hide spoiler ] I just adored it. It's a big change up that will see Luna spending a freaky Friday or whatever day it happens to be as Devil Dinosaur, and vice versa! I did like her newly discovered inhuman power, and it was fun to have Ms. Of course, that doesn't actually happen. A fun series rolls on and I'm excited for volume 3. My TBR pile is larger than I'll ever be able to read, and yet I can't resist adding to it on a nearly daily basis. Often Marvel has tried to force readers to accept new characters without taking much consideration of the vested interest the original characters have built over the decades. It's logical. So if you find a current lower price from an online retailer on an identical, in-stock product, tell us and we'll match it. Another fun filled romp through the Marvel-verse with the smartest person on the planet: Lunella aka Moon Girl. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Vol. 2: Cosmic Cooties Writer Both comics successfully devoted time to building out the personal growth challenges the young superheroes coped with while keeping the story moving with the usual superhero action. This was a great follow up. I really liked the relationship between her and Lunella and would like to see that further explored. It's interesting but the comical slapstick elements of it overshadow and serious consideration of it and its impact on her life. I'm really enjoying reading this series! I mean that came out of nowhere to me. Plus the Hulk pops up a couple times, but apparently he's not Bruce Banner? Marvel shows up to talk with Moon Girl and Kid Kree when their argument potentially puts citizens at risk. The characters were very well written. You just like the male characters better. You never could write women and you screwed your female characters over. It's a big change up that will see Luna spending a freaky Friday or whatever day it happens to be as Devil Dinosaur, and vice versa! Anyway, he disguises himself as Marvin and joins her science class. Mar 20, Kathleen rated it it was amazing Shelves: mind-candy , young-adult , , comics. The series is kind of wacky and kind of absurd, but it's fun, sincere, and has a good core. Because when a new boy moves to town from far, far away, he's oddly interested in her. I love her! Like Lunella. There are a few panels of her trying to discover her powers but it could have gone longer and become allegorical of the tween's challenge to figure where she fits in among her peers and family. Moon Girl has emerged from her chrysalis and her power? There is a lot of fun in these pages, so it was a good read. And he seems to have a thing for Lunella … This book is still cute. The themes are repetitive and are about teaching acceptance. And she's got her rompin' sompin' sidekick, Devil Dinosaur, at her side. The first volume was fun, and the second volume continues to build on the characters and story. Captain America, into the ultimate Hydra sleeper agent— and after months of scheming and manipulation, the country is now under the control of Hydra. Most of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been brainwashed. Earth’s heroes are trapped in space or behind the Darkforce dome enveloping New York City. Mutants established the sovereign state of New Tian; the Inhuman city of New Attilan is now an internment camp. After Captain America had her team murdered and her mentor Phil Coulson went missing, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Daisy Johnson formed a new team of Inhumans determined to bring Hydra down. Together, they broke into New Tian in search of an Inhuman named Leer, who Karnak says is the key to defeating Hydra. After a brief tussle with the X-Men, the Warriors found a secret lab run by Dark Beast, an evil alternate-dimension version of Hank McCoy. Under duress, Beast admitted he had given Leer to Hydra. They didn’t have to search far: A faction of Hydra—led by Daisy’s father, Mr. Hyde—was right outside. The Warriors were captured and taken on board Hyde’s Helicarrier, but their attempt to disarm Daisy failed, and she brought down the ship. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur were separated from the others in the chaos. Moon Girl found Leer— but then Hyde found her. The rest of the Warriors caught a ride with the X-Men, but the Helicarrier crashed with Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur still aboard..
