Rebuild

The year 2018 witnessed a very heavy monsoon and the worst flood ever in the history of Kerala. The TROP team of St. Teresa’s College joined hands with the state government’s Rebuild Kerala Mission and mobilized the entire first year Under Graduate students for an online Mobile App based household survey to assess the damages to properties in the flood affected areas of CheranalloorGrama Panchayat. The students, as registered volunteers under the Rebuild Kerala Mission, successfully surveyed 3460 houses spread over 17 wards at Cheranalloor. 754 students from St.Teresa’sCollege registered and actively took part in the post flood survey on 15th and 18th September 2018.

Unnat Bharat Abhyan

This year, St. Teresa’s College was selected as a Participating Institution (PI) for the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), a flagship programme of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of to uplift rural India. The mission of UBA is to enable participating higher education institutions including IITs, NITS and IISER among others, to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. The activities of the UBA are coordinated by the TROP team. The college has identified five villages recommended by the honourable District Collector for conducting the UBA programme. The five villages selected are , Njarackal, Cheranalloor, and Kuzhipilly.
