  • Worcester Academy Partners with Playsight to Bring Technology to Its Campus and Athletic Facilities
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 22, 2019 Worcester Academy partners with PlaySight to bring technology to its campus and athletic facilities Worcester, MA (July 22nd, 2019) – The Hilltoppers from Worcester Academy are adding video technology to their athletic programs this summer, becoming the latest New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) program to partner with PlaySight. Worcester Academy’s coaches and student-athletes will soon benefit from PlaySight’s pro-level video and performance tools, and the school’s student body, family, parents and alumni will be able to tune in and follow the Hilltoppers through PlaySight’s live streaming and automated production capabilities. Worcester Academy joins a number of other NEPSAC programs with PlaySight, including the Pomfret School, Kent School, Forman School, Trinity-Pawling, Brewster Academy, Choate Rosemary Hall and the Hotchkiss School. With its technology, PlaySight turns sports facilities, gyms, fields, hockey rinks and pools ‘Smart’ by installing high-performance sports AI software and connected camera technology. PlaySight-powered facilities provide student-athletes, coaches, teams and fans with automated HD broadcast live streaming and pro-level coaching and performance analysis tools, as well as instant replay and an on-demand video content platform to access, store, manage and share video, statistics and analytics. PlaySight’s flexible platform works across all varsity sports, from tennis and sQuash to basketball, volleyball, football, lacrosse, hockey, swimming and more. Athletics play an important role at Worcester, as nearly 60 percent of the student population participates each season. The school views athletics and the lessons taught through sport to be an extension of the classroom learning that has been a staple since 1834.

  • 2019 Annual Report
2019 ANNUAL REPORT oliverscholars.org 1 WELCOME Dear Friends of Oliver Scholars, 2019 was a year of significant changes and transformation for Oliver Scholars. We welcomed a new CEO, along with new members of our senior leadership team; we embarked on a strategic planning process to ensure the long-term sustainability of our institution; we expanded our outreach to include the CEO Salon Series; we launched new partnerships to help our college scholars and recent college graduates access expanded career opportunities; our work together was featured on CBS This Morning and CNN Heroes; and we began the process of reimagining and deepening our work with scholars, partner schools, parents, and alumni. Luckily, we did not have to start from scratch. The truth is that Oliver Scholars has a long track record of engaging with scholars and other stakeholders in ways that reflect the kind of care, intention, and thought you’d expect from any world-class youth-serving organization. Our current scholars and accomplished and engaged alumni often bear witness to the transformative impact this organization has had on their lives. Time and time again, as we spoke with members of this amazing community, there was one unifying word that showed up in every conversation: FAMILY. As an organization that is not only committed to opening new Dr. Danielle R. Moss educational pathways for our young people, but one that also has a Chief Executive Officer long-standing commitment to nurturing future generations of Black and Latinx leaders, Oliver Scholars often talk about the sense of family and deep connection that have become hallmarks of this organization over the last 35 years.
