The Food & Clothes Guide provides information for anyone who needs it about many different services available to them, with topics such as Food and Clothes. With this brochure, you can find very useful services in your area and a lot of information about the collected services. There are also maps in this bro- chure which can also be found online by accessing our personal Google MyMaps group to easily find all the places described in this booklet!

You can start by reading the instruction pages (pages 1-2): This will show you how to best use this booklet! If you want to start quickly, look at the table of contents to find the type of service you are interested in.

Destiny Angels | Foodbank

 Gives free food packs to people in crisis.

 If you have non-perishable foods at home, please bring them to any Destiny Church centre.

 In the near future (around April/May 2018), Blackhill‘s Growing will give out free ingredient packs.

The Salvation Army | Community Meals in the East of Glasgow

 The Salvation Army in the east of Glasgow has community meals in Dennistoun, Parkhead and Shettleston. They are called Community Drop- Ins.

 It is free and you don‘t need a voucher! You get soup, a meat-and-cheese sandwich and something to drink.

 Everybody is welcome, the atmosphere is very friendly and no one is judged.

 Counselling is also offered to anyone who has a need.

 If you are in need of free food, you can also get a food parcel. In order to get one, please speak to Major Colin Bradshaw at the community Drop-In. The food you get is enough for up to one week!

 The Salvation Army is always happy to receive donations for the project.

Maslow‘s Community Shop

 Gives free clothes and household goods to anyone who needs them!

 You need a referral form to get free clothes and kitchenware.

 Asylum seekers don‘t need a referral form.

 Maslow‘s gives you a money voucher each month to pick clothes and kitchenware.

1. How and where do you get a referral form for Maslow‘s?

An organisation or agent needs to fill out the referral form for you. Please ask Cranhill Development Trust if they can do that for you. Asylum seekers don‘t need a referral form but need to bring their ARC card or Home Office papers to Maslow‘s.

3. How does Maslow‘s money voucher system work?

People referred to Maslow‘s Community Shop will get a money voucher every month. The money value of the voucher can be used to buy clothes every time and kitchenware for the first few times you come to Maslow‘s. Adults get 20 pounds per month, teenagers get 10 pounds per month, children get 7 pounds a month and babies get 5 pounds a month. If you have a family, all the money will be put on to a family voucher.

Sunny-sid3up Charity Shop

 The Sunny-sid3up charity shop gives free clothes to people in crisis.

 You need a referral letter to get the clothes.

 Sunny-sid3up also sells very cheap clothes, houseware goods, CDs, DVDs, and toys to people who are not in crisis, but don‘t have a lot of money (see more on page 25).

An organisation or agent (social worker, doctor etc.) needs to write a referral letter for you. There are no strict rules about how it needs to be written. It needs to explain why you need the clothes, mention your personal information and details about your referral agent/organisation. In order to get clothes, you need to bring the referral letter to Sunny-side3up Charity Shop. If you have any questions, please ask Cranhill Development Trust for help!

 At the Cranhill Parish Church you can buy cheap clothes and shoes!

 We also sell books, CDs/DVDs, bags, towels, bedding, some electrical goods like light and sound systems, kitchen utilities, homeware, decorations, toys, gifts and more for little money.

 If you really need clothes/shoes/bedding and don‘t have the money to buy these things, you can get them for free at this charity shop too. For more information, please go to page 23.

Timpson | Free Cleaning of an Interview Outfit

 If you are unemployed, Timpson, a private company, will clean your interview outfit for free!

 Many thanks go to Timpson for offering this great service to the people! Timpson does many things, such as Locksmith services, repairing watches, mobile phones and shoes, dry cleaning and laundry, carpet cleaning and much more. If you are interested, please check out their website!

You don‘t need a referral or voucher to get your outfit cleaned. Just go to one of the stores listed below and speak to one of the employees. Explain that you would like to have your interview outfit cleaned and they will help you. It is useful to bring some proof that you are going to an interview!

Merry-Go-Round Glasgow

 Merry-Go-Round wants to make being a parent easier!

 Merry-Go-Round has quality clothes from 50 pence with no item more expensive than £4.50; babygros, vests, socks, dresses, jackets, t-shirts, jumpers, handknits – and more!

 Sleepsuits and vests are only 10 for £1.

 Baby hats, bootees and shoes are all only 20 pence.

 Toys start from just 50 pence and are sold for just 30% of the price of shops.

 Games and jigsaws are available from only £2.

 Moses baskets are only £15 with stands available from only £5.
