LAW REFORM IS YOUR BUSINESS

Good laws must reflect the needs and beliefs of all those affected by them.

Whatever your occupation, background and training, your views on the law are important to those concerned with law reform in the federal government.

To facilitate informed participation by the public, a series of meetings will be held at which some of the questions under review by the Law Reform Commission will be discussed.

This is a pilot project which if successful will lead to further citizen participation in other commu- nities throughout Canada. It has the support of the Law Reform Commission and locally of the Glebe Community Centre Council.

The philosophy behind the existing criminal and other laws, together with suggested modifications, will be explained.

Individuals resident in this community will have a chance through this series both to contribute to wise and effective laws, and to learn something of legal philosophy and the views of their fellow citizens.

Meetings will be held Thursday evenings at 8 p.m. in the Glebe Communitx Centre. To obtain study papers

in advance, please contact Randal Marlin, 1 Regent Street (tel: 232-2846), organizer of the series.
