Educational Services That Transform Lives

September 2008

Dear Colleagues,

Eastern Suffolk BOCES goal in Educational Support Services (ESS) is to provide quality job-embedded, sustained staff development to component districts through the utilization of master teacher coaches. This customized staff development approach is designed to meet the needs of our component districts. The expertise of these master teacher coaches includes all content areas in both general and special education, including administrative coaching. It is our belief that through a viable coaching network we have created a forum for curriculum experts and staff developers in our region who will exchange ideas, share best practices and begin a tradition of meaningful dialogue regarding teaching and learning in our districts.

We are excited to report that our colleagues in both Western Suffolk BOCES and Nassau BOCES felt our “Coaching Network Guide” to be an exemplary practice and are replicating their own version in their regions.

As always, your feedback is welcome and we appreciate all your suggestions. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Marilyn H. Adsitt Director Educational Support Services
