Updates Chalk Fall Fun! Buskers! ROC the Riverway OnChalk Broad Street Updates ROC THE RIVERWAY Weekend Celebrate the Mighty Genesee! October 4-6 WwW.CiTyOfRoChEsTeR.GoV/RoCtHeRiVeRwAy /cityofrochesterny This event/festival is sponsored in part by the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor and the NYS Canal Corporation. ROC THE RIVERWAY Weekend The Genesee River is the lifeblood of the Greater Rochester Region. From the abundant farms of the Genesee Valley to the industrial heritage of the City, the Genesee River has defined who we are and how our community developed. In 2018 the City along with our partners at the State of New York, launched an ambitious $500 million initiative to truly release the full potential of our river. ROC the Riverway is a series of projects which celebrate the past and build for the future. Together, we will transform this former industrial waterway into a community recreational corridor that provides opportunities for all to interact with water. Celebrate this transformation with us! Come out, experience a weekend of activities and learn more about our community’s vision for the future. 6 A.M. Tom LaDuca ‘72 - A Park Avenue Pioneer ochester’s Park Avenue simply isn’t what it used to be. That’s not to Rsuggest there’s anything wrong along this trendy thoroughfare—quite the contrary. The evolution of Park Avenue over the years makes it one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods. Tom LaDuca ‘72 had a big impact on that transformation. As the owner of Hogan’s Hideaway, the College of Business alumnus helped launch a casu- ally elegant style of dining that makes the area a popular destination. His restaurant offers a wide-ranging menu, with items made from scratch on premises. But LaDuca says high quality food is only part of the experience. People enjoy coming to Hogan’s and Park Avenue to take in the eclectic mix of commercial and residential activity. “You can’t get the atmosphere—that certain ambiance—at the suburban chain restaurants,” explains LaDuca. “What you do get there is consistency. Walk into any chain, and you can sit in Tom LaDuca ‘72 and daughter Kelly Marie ‘03 pose in front of Hogan’s Hideaway. the same place, look at the same picture. Many from whom Imight have obtained important information having passed away before that date, the earlier history of the family has been secured, principally, from old wills and deeds of land and property found among the records in the office of the County Clerk of Westmoreland County, Virginia. The information in regard to the Coat of Arms Igot when in London, England, in 1878. Among those living, to • none am Iso much indebted as to John H. Rochester, of Rochester, N. V., and R. Nathaniel Rochester Ihave compiled from a manuscript history of his life, written by himself, from "O'Reilly's History of Rochester," " and from the sketch of his life in the Phelps and Gorham Purchase." The rapid growth of the family since 1800, and the distances by which they have been separated, prevent a fuller history of the family since that date than such as can be obtained from the Charts 11.

It is far more important to put those resources into areas that would benefit from it. Police’s role in our communities is too broad and should be narrowed down. Furthermore The police agencies within Monroe County should all reexamine the hiring standards for police officers (Bachelor’s degree at minimum). Modern policing develops a culture of rewarding silence. There needs to be a negotiation with the police unions to not only prevent officers from being rehired, but also come up with a form of licensure for officers so that if they violate the terms of their duty then they have their license revoked.
