02 PART- I 1- The Principal’s Report : Government college khaniyadhana, Shivpuri (M.P.) is a newly – established Institution of higher education. It started in the year 2014. It is situated in the backward and remote area of . It is the only college of the town. The construction of new building is in progress. The Government has allotted 4 hectare of land for the college. The college provides only graduation course in the faculty of arts. The subjects like political science, sociology, economics, history, English literature, literature are available to the students. It is a small college having the total strength of 93 students. Obviously, it provides co-education facility. At present the college runs in the building of HSS khaniyadhana. It is affiliated to the Jiwaji University, Gwalior (M.P.) It is also worth mentioning that the college has a very active and progressive Janbhagidari Samiti dedicated to the development of academic standards and it also helps raising additional financial resources which are utilized for the welfare of the students community. Progress Report of the Institution : Following attempts are made for tracking the progression of the students – 1. Teaching plans prepared by the teachers are strictly followed. 2. The use of information technology, modern teaching aids and Internet is encouraged among the rural area students. 3. Students are motivated to attend career fair for better placement. 4. Interdisciplinary programme is also conducted. 5. Excursion and educational trips are arranged. 6. Demo – interviews are also conducted. 7. Students are also guided to participate in the youth festival and other cultural and literary competitions.

03 8. Seminars/ workshops are also attended by the teachers. 9. Facilities are also provided for group – discussion and students lecture. 10. Special classes are arranged for weaker students. 11. Programmes regarding social service are organized. 12. Sports facilities are also provided to the students. 13. Awareness and value – added programmes and cleanliness drive are arranged. 14. Various measures are also taken to make the college campus eco – friendly. 2. Overview : (i) Vision, Mission and Objectives of the college Vision Our vision is to produce academically competent, morally strong, physically healthy, financially independent and socially responsible citizens of the nation. (8) Construction and Best Practices:  To develop the institution to cater to the needs of the students of rural areas.  To enhance the employability of the students.  To develop the institution for fulfillment of the need of human education.  To improve the equity by providing the opportunity to the weaker sections of society.  To develop the institution as the pioneer institution of the rural region. (9) SWOC Analysis: Strength i. 95% guest faculty is well-qualified. ii. It is the only higher education centre in this region. iii. It Has got Janbhagidari Samiti that raises funds for various purposes. Weaknesses i. There is a dirth of regular teaching staff. ii. There is also a paucity of office staff members. iii. Teachers are over- burden with a lot of non-academic work. iv. Our institution his no vocational and certificate courses under self-financing schemes.

13 Opportunity i. To attract maximum number of students to access to higher education. ii. To prove that it aims at uplifting the weaker sections of society. iii. To provide placement facilities to the students. iv. To design and implement various vocational and certificate courses to enhance employability. v. Very soon, the college is going to shift in a new building with a campus of 4 hectare land. Threats i. At present the college campus is not sufficient enough to meet with the requirements of the college. ii. Location of the institution is another threat. It is far away from the town. iii. The college has got only the B.A. course giving us less opportunities to perform. (10) Looking Ahead future plans Lays out the college priorities and goals over the coming year. Describes key initiatives planned, what each initiative is expected to achieve and how it will contribute to the college’s long term development. Institutional Development: The strategy for the remaining plan period of the Government college khaniyadhana, Shivpuri rests on the guiding principles, namely, access, equity and excellence. Strategic plan towards enhanced access to higher education: The strategy of college is to increase student intake not only by introducing new courses and programmes but also by expanding the existing infrastructural facilities.

14 The Strategic plan lays emphasis on:  Constructing classrooms, library and computer lab.  It is necessary to introduce to adjust the new intake and also to start the new courses and programmes. The girls common-room and gents common-room are also required. At present, the rooms available are small. We need bigger rooms for teaching and conducting examinations.  Expanding Hostel Facility: Right now, the college has no hostel. At least one hostel for boys is required if we want to attract more number of students from remote areas. The hostel facilities is a must.  Library Facility: At present, the college has no library building. The reading room is also very necessary for the readers. Therefore, there is an urgent need for improving the library facility.  Computer lab and other equipment: In order to enhance access to quality education, computer lab, teaching aids and audio-visual facilities are extremely important. The classrooms are to be equipped with modern amenities / equipment to facilitate the teaching and learning process.
