Show (Ire) () will continue racing as a four-year- old in 2011, it was announced yesterday. AMusic Show stays in training, and will be campaigned from a mile up to a mile-and-a-quarter,@ confirmed the owner's racing manager Bruce Raymond. AShe showed a great turn of foot to win the Falmouth S., in which they went a true gallop, and she is best suited by a strong pace. I think she is sure to stay a mile and a quarter, and it could be that she actually finds some improvement for going further. Hulse Keeps His Humor, Lands SW Colt... T K Stable=s Kevin Hulse flew in from Nebraska on Monday with the express purpose of buying two horses, both juveniles by Sharp Humor from the WinStar draft. He was thwarted on the first, the session-topping Funny Sunny, who soared past his appraisal. That left Hulse with a case of the nerves as the second, the undefeated stakes winner Glint (Sharp Humor--Glimmer, by Deputy Minister), came into the ring later in the day as hip 3326. "I figured [Glint would] bring between $250,000 and $350,000, but...I was on the other Sharp Humor ear- lier, and she brought $380,000. I didn't think she'd bring $150,000!@ laughed Hulse. AI thought, 'Whoa! I better go see how big the checkbook is!'@ Big enough, as it turned out. Hulse, a relatively new face on the scene, proved gamest for Glint, and landed the colt for $340,000. That was the second-highest price for a horse yesterday. AHe's the real deal,@ said Hulse, wearing a Harley- Davidson jacket and doing his bidding out back. AIt isn't much more of a risk coming here and spending $350,000 for him, or giving a $100,000 for a yearling. We know he can race. I've had yearling [purchases] that you need a search warrant to find. The risk factor isn't as bad. This will be a good experience; this will be fun.@ Bred by WinStar, Glint was sent through the Keeneland September Sale 14 months ago, but was bought back for $32,000. That proved the right deci- sion. Glint outclassed the competition in his debut, romping by over nine lengths at Hoosier Sept. 1, then powered clear to a three-length win in the Fitz Dixon Jr. Memorial Juvenile S. at Presque Isle Sept. 25. Glint had a chip removed from his ankle following the race. AIt was a really small chip--it was less than a millime- ter--but they thought, as good as he is, if you get to campaigning him hard next year, it would be sad in April to find out you needed to remove it,@ Hulse rea- soned. AIt was kind of a preventative thing. Star of the Show... With the top five lots and 15 of the top 20 selling from WinStar=s draft of racing prospects, it wasn=t hard to figure the fuel driving Tuesday=s strong ninth session at Keeneland November. WinStar=s Elliott Walden was on hand all day to keep track of the consignment, and proclaimed himself satisfied at selling=s end.
