He has done a lot for me in the past four years, from my freshman year helping me break out of my shell to my senior year helping me apply for college scholarships, even sometimes at 7:30 in the morning before they are due. Mr. McKim has inspired me to be the leader he is and the person whom others can depend on. He has had such a positive impact on my life that I will never forget what a passionate teacher and role model he is. Mr. McKim, I want to sincerely thank you for making a difference in my life—for caring, for going above and beyond your duties as a teacher, for always being available, and mostly believing in me.

I knew from day one that choir was going to be one of those classes that transcended the bounds of what was written in the student handbook. It had something to do with the teacher, Mr. Baty. That kind of enthusiasm and drive can’t be properly described in writing, nor can the atmosphere of the class be felt without actually experiencing it in person. All I can say is that Mr. Baty brings the class beyond the singing. The level of respect he has for his students and willingness to listen to his students is truly extraordinary. Choir has always been a passion of mine, and having such a great teacher has kept that energy alive.

I chose Mrs. Norman as my Distinguished Educator for many different reasons. I have had her as a teacher since my sophomore year. She is the most kind, caring and inspirational person I have ever met. Always pushing me to try new things, she is the reason that I joined Business Professionals of America and began volunteering with Special Olympics. Without her I would not have joined something that has become a large part of my life. Mrs. Norman gives me the courage to always believe in myself. She is more than just my teacher, she is a lifelong friend who I know will always be there for me. Thank you for everything you have done for me Mrs. Norman!

My past two years of high school have been strange, moving from Kalispell to Helena, back to Kalispell, only to wind up in Helena again. However, during that time I was fortunate enough to have Ms. Holland as an educator. She was able to teach difficult material, but still managed to make it fun for the class. I like to think her ability to make anything enjoyable, such as the college applications she assisted me with, stems from the red hair, a characteristic we both share.
