In September she will tour Mexico performing works of American composers. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently Assistant Professor of Cello at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Seth Beckman has received numerous honors and awards, both as a soloist and chamber musician, and has appeared in recital throughout the United States and Europe. He-is Associate Professor of Piano and Chair of the Music Department at Bemidji State University. Joseph Bognar received his Bachelor of Music degree from Valparaiso University. He was awarded the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano accompanying and vocal coaching fromthe University of Illinois. -

Case Study Proposal In order to better understand the full scope and effectiveness of campus climate action planning, four universities were selected to act as case studies for the project. These universities were identified based on a set of specific criteria aimed at narrowing downselecting schools that are most similar to Montana State University. The process of selection and the criteria used is detailed in coming paragraphs. Once the spreadsheet matrix was completed and the university data was were gathered, it was time to begin the process of selecting four colleges for the case study. Although there were many criteria for case study selection, only the most important of these will be detailed in this proposal. Perhaps the most important criterion on the comparability matrix was the political leaning of the state that the university resides in. -

Baccalaureate Mass 2013 Carroll College Bishop George Leo Thomas THE FIFTH FORCE Fifty years ago, Bishop Raymond G. Hunthausen, the former priest-President of Carroll College, and sixth Bishop of Helena, participated all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council. At age 91, he is now the last living American Father of the Council. Upon his final return from Rome, Bishop Hunthausen ushered in dramatic and unprecedented change into the Diocese of Helena. These changes impacted not only the rhythm of life in the Diocese, but also directly and dramatically affected the life and structures of Carroll College. Many of those changes were immediate and simple to describe, visibly and directly impacting the clergy and laity in their everyday lives: The Bishop introduced a vision of shared responsibility, where priests and laity were asked, or more accurately, expected, to collaborate together in a new and untested model of leadership. This was a radical departure from a formerly all clerical leadership structure, and introduced a new vocabulary into Church—unheard words like “collaboration,” ”consultation,” and “collegiality,” to name a few. This vision gave rise to parish and finance councils in the Diocese, and new structures like the Faculty Council and the Board of Trustees at Carroll College. Bishop Hunthausen encouraged a new level of ecumenical and interfaith dialogue among religious leaders of all persuasions, a major change in a Church that was distinguished by a highly honed skill of talking to itself. In the next decade, Carroll began to describe itself “as a Catholic diocesan college in the ecumenical tradition.” Bishop Hunthausen introduced the vernacular into the liturgy, which proved to be a welcome change for most, but provoked strong reaction by others who had grown accustomed to hearing Latin as the only liturgical language they had ever known. -

History of the Cathedral Organ
History of the Cathedral Organ The first worship service was held at the Cathedral of the Incarnation on Trinity Sunday, 1911. At this time, only the undercroft was completed, and the building was designated the “pro-cathedral”, meaning the building was designated to someday be the Cathedral. No records can be found of what instrument was used between 1911 and 1931, when the upper church was finally completed. Neither can any record be found of the instrument used in our sanctuary between 1931 and 1941. In 1941, the original Cathedral organ was purchased from the Möller Organ Company of Hagerstown. The instrument at the time had a total of fourteen ranks of pipes and chimes. The purchase price was $5,825, for Möller Opus 7042 (about $91,000 in 2014 dollars). Completion of the organ, envisioned to be 43 ranks, was planned as soon as funds were available. In 1960, the Cathedral received a bequest by Ella Jarrett and Mary Helen Ziegler for additions to the organ. A contract was given to the Aeolian-Skinner Organ Company of Boston for the additions (Opus 1386). Six additional ranks were added to the swell organ and seven ranks were added to the choir organ. The cost of this work was $15,200 (about $119,000 in 2014 dollars). A proposal to add an additional 11 ranks to the great organ and five ranks to the pedal organ was rejected by the Chapter as too costly. The cost of these additions at the time was $17,550. By 1971, the organ was in need of an overhaul. -

The Bobcat Nurse 2017 Table of Contents A parting message 1 [ ] Dean’s message Greetings Bobcat Nurses and friends, Today I write with mixed emotions, including sadness that I am composing my last dean’s message for the Bobcat Nurse, but also with anticipation of my upcoming retirement. I am pleased to announce that Dr. Sarah Shannon is the new 3 [ ] Pinning dean of the College of Nursing. You may recognize that last name — Dr. Shannon is the niece of Dr. Anna Shannon, who served as dean of the college from 1975–1990. I am certain the college will be in good hands with Dr. Shannon at the helm, which makes it a bit easier for me to step away from this job I’ve enjoyed so much. 6 [ ] Faculty news As I pack boxes with some of my favorite books and other memorabilia from my office, I find myself reflecting on the many accomplishments I’ve witnessed in the college during the last eight years. • We’ve started a doctoral program and now have graduates who are not only prepared to provide quality primary care at the highest standards of the profession, but who also understand the 10 [ ] College news complexities of our health care system in a way that allows them to be leaders and change agents as individuals and families maneuver through that system. • Our accelerated BSN program is now offered on four of our five campuses. We know those grad- uates are welcome in the work place not only because of their strong educational background and critical thinking skills, but because of the maturity and life experience they bring. -

Three contestants were screened from the applicants in the semi-final round and their playing is of an extremely high level. You will want to hear these exceptional performances by these young organists. Winners will be announced immediately following the competition.
