Charles River Watershed Association: “Herter Park - Self Guided Tour & Family-Friendly Bingo Game” FREE Time: 9:30-11:30 AM Location: Herter Park, 1175 Soldiers Field Road, Boston, MA. Access by MBTA Bus Routes 70 or 86 (along Western Avenue), Everett Street stop. CRWA table will be obvious on the path between the parking lot and Amphitheater (near the community gardens). Event information: · Charles River Watershed Association invites one and all to join a self- guided tour of the vibrant community space of Boston’s Christian A. Herter Park. The tour will cover the playgrounds, gardens, amphitheater, and matchless vista of the Charles while providing information on the past, present, and future of the river and park. Stop at our booth to pick up information for the tour. · A bingo game is available as a family-friendly activity along with the self-guided tour. · We will also be demonstrating "Watershed in a Box" (COVID-19 protocols apply), · We invite you to bring a picnic snack or lunch and spend time enjoying all the space has to offer. Tuesday, April 20 – Friday April 23) City of Boston Story Walks (10 locations) StoryWalks are an innovative and delightful way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children's book are attached to wooden stakes, which are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll throughout the park, you're directed to the next page in the story. Locations include: Elliot Norton Park, 295 Tremont Street, Chinatown Book: Errol’s Garden Language: English / Simplified Chinese Library activity: Chinatown Branch - themed book displays and make-and-take crafts available for families for the duration of the Storywalk. Ringer Park, 85 Allston Street, Allston Book: Errols’ Garden Language: English / Russian Description: Errol loves gardening and has filled his home with beautiful plants, but he does not have a real garden. He dreams about an outdoor space where he can grow things. Then for the first time he discovers a rooftop space on his apartment building... perfect for a community garden!
