  • New on Video &
New On Video & DVD Yes Man Jim Carrey returns to hilarious form with this romantic comedy in the same vein as the Carrey classic Liar Liar. After a few stints in more serious features like Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and The Number 23, Carrey seems right at home playing Carl, a divorcé who starts out the film depressed and withdrawn, scared of taking a risk. Pressured by his best friend, Peter (Bradley Cooper), to get his act together or be stuck with a lonely life, Carl attends a New Age self-help seminar intended to change "no men" like Carl into "yes men" willing to meet life's challenges with gusto. Carl is reluctant at first, but finds the seminar to be ultimately life-changing when he's coerced into giving the "say yes" attitude a try. As the first opportunity to say yes presents itself, Carl hesitantly utters the three-letter word, setting the stage for a domino effect of good rewards, and giving Carrey a platform to show off his comic chops. But over time Carl realizes that saying yes to everything indiscriminately can reap results as complicated and messy as his life had become when saying "no" was his norm. The always-quirky Zooey Deschanel adds her signature charm as Carl's love interest, Allison. An unlikely match at first glance, the pair actually develop great chemistry as the story progresses, the actors play- ing off each other's different styles of humor. Rhys Darby also shines as Carl's loveable but clueless boss, and That 70s Show's Danny Masterson appears as another one of Carl's friends.

Want to Know What J.R. and Sue Ellen Ewing Talked About Behind the Scenes of “Dallas”? Win Lunch with TV Star Linda Gray and Help Find a Cure for Alzheimer’s Disease SAN FRANCISCO (March 24, 2016) – Want to have a lunch you’ll never forget? On the 36th anniversary of J.R. being shot on TV’s “Dallas,” TV star Linda Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing) is offering new Brain Health Registry members a chance to win “Lunch with Linda.” The #GrayMatters contest, part of the actress’s ongoing effort to increase awareness for Alzheimer’s disease, encourages people to register for clinical trials and help find cures faster. The “Lunch with Linda” contest includes roundtrip airfare for two, ground transportation, hotel and lunch. For a chance to win, register by May 15, 2016 at http://join.brainhealthregistry.org/lunchwithlinda. #GrayMatters is part of a national outreach effort led by Global Alzheimer’s Platform Foundation to grow a registry of potential Alzheimer’s clinical trial candidates and accelerate a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease by 2025. Encouraging enrollment for clinical trials has been a major barrier in bringing promising medical treatments to the market, and more research is needed. Together with UC San Francisco’s Brain Health Registry, the national effort also includes support from major medical institutions across the country, including UCSF, researchers at Harvard Medical School, Emory University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Cleveland Clinic’s Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, Neurostudies.net., and Brain Matters Research. Quote: “I lost my mother and a dear friend to Alzheimer’s disease and wanted to do something to help,” explained Linda Gray.

Commencement Programs. 115. https://opencommons.uconn.edu/upub_commence/115 WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT I congratulate the members of the Class 0/2011 and you rfamilies on the achievement we mark at these Commencement exercises. The past years have been a time of change, progress, and exhilaration for each ofyou, and for the institution you have been a part of. Our University, long a leader in our region, has grown stronger every year you have been with us. Many of you contributed mightily to our success. You arrived at UConn well prepared for higher learning, intellectually curious, and perhaps a bit anxious about the life you were entering Now, as you leave us, you can take satisfaction in Imowing you met high standards in and out of the classroom, took advantage of the opportunities we ofJered, and prepared yourselves well for the challenges that lie before you. Those challenges may be substantial. You enter a world shaped by economic turmoil, acts of terror; religious and ethnic con~ict, and technological advances that may bode good or ill. It will befor each ofyou, in your own way, to try to build a better society, even as you strive to build meaningful and productive lives for yourselves. It is said that of those to whom much is given, much is asked. You have been given supportive families, a nation built on democratic values, and, now, afirst-class education.

  • Kvinderne Og Dallas
