Ena Duffy, Knockmore Road. Fr. Jimmy’s Easter Message: We live in a wonderful but deeply wounded and wounding world that is at times, uncaring, unforgiving, cruel, and devoid of second chances. So many things can make us afraid today. The loss of a loved one, work, a broken friendship and the experience of not being valued by others, are among the many experiences that can leave us despondent, not knowing what to expect, even afraid. Those who met the risen Christ -- the two Marys, the guards, the disciples -- all experienced a profound change in their lives. Christ was alive and offered peace and hope to them. They were offered new beginnings. His presence brought not vengeance, but reconciliation. Our Lord’s resurrection overcame sin and death. His resurrection is an invitation to new life, where every human flaw can be corrected, and we can be freed from whatever binds and constricts or destroys true freedom, and be welcomed into his kingdom. Easter offers the assurance that the many difficulties and challenges that threaten to overwhelm us will be overcome. Thank you for celebrating Holy week with us, thank you to all who played a very active role in presenting the Tridium. May you have a Blessed Easter and a reason to hope. Fr. Jimmy. Some thoughts on protecting human life: The Church teaches that life is sacred from conception to natural death and there is no such thing as a life without value. This belief is based on reason as well as Faith. Our Church rejects the suggestion that any person can decide when it is time for another person to die. By virtue of their common humanity, a mother and her unborn baby have an equal right to life. The Catholic Church has never taught that the life of a child in the womb should be preferred to that of a mother. This aspect of Church teaching on the right to life is often misunderstood. If a pregnant woman becomes seriously ill and needs treatment which may, as a secondary effect, put the life of her baby at risk, such treatment is always ethically permissible provided every effort has been made to save the life of both mother and baby. Abortion, by contrast, is the direct and intentional ending of an unborn baby's life. Parish Contributions: last weekend amounted to £1,720.00 and Renovation £1,320.00. Sincere thanks for your generous support. Divine Mercy Devotions: Takes place on the Feast of ‘Divine Mercy’ Sunday 8th April in St Michael’s Church. Enniskillen at 3pm and the Graan at 7pm. There will be Benediction. Chaplet and Rosary, Sermon on Mercy, Veneration of Image, Blessing with relic of St Faustina. Botha Lourdes support Group: The Botha Lourdes Support Group are seeking nominations of people who are interested in travelling to Lourdes in July 2018. Thank you very much to everyone who weighed in down at the clubrooms on Saturday morning for a number of bits of maintenance work. It was great to see such a team assembled, and significant jobs of work completed well. Some advance notice that Sunday Morning Footy returns on Sunday April 8th. We look forward to seeing young boys and girls from Primary One to Under 12, plus an army of willing coaches and parent helpers to give us another great year at Canon Maguire Park every week. Scale: 1:17712 Teacher’s Notes SUGGESTED POINTS TO NOTE STOPS All sites can be accessed from the visitor centre at Cavan Burren Park. This is reached by following Access the signs from the entrance. There is ample parking for both buses and cars, and picnic tables and toilet facilities are provided. The Burren Forest is an area of approximately 300 acres (1.2km2) and comprises one of the finest archaeological landscapes in the Marble Arch Caves UNESCO Global Geopark. Evidence of settlement ranging from Neolithic farmers right up to 19th Century farmsteads are all found within the forest as well as a host of other evidence from the time periods in between. Cavan Burren Park is owned by Coillte, the Irish semi-state forestry body who manage the site as an active timber plantation together with Cavan County Council who manage the site for recreational purposes. The afforestation of the area in the 1950s has not only helped to preserve this relict landscape but has also helped to protect some fine geological and geomorphological features.

    WALKING IN FERMANAGH About the Walks The walks have been graded into four categories Easy Short walks generally fairly level going on well surfaced routes. Moderate Longer walks with some gradients and generally on well surfaced routes. Moderate/Difficult Some off road walking. Good footwear recommended. Difficult This only applies to Walk 20, a long walk only suitable for more experienced walkers correctly equipped. For those looking for a longer walk it is possible to combine some walks. These are numbers 10 and 11, 12 and 13, 18 and 20, and 24 and 25. Disclaimer Note: The maps used in this guide are taken from the original publication, published in 2000. Use of these maps is at your own risk. Bear in mind that the countryside is continually changing. This is especially true of forest areas, mainly due to the clearfelling programme. In the forests some of the footpaths may also change, either upgraded as funds become available or re-routed to overcome upkeep problems and reduce costs. These routes are not waymarked but should be by the summer of 2007. Metal barriers may well be repositioned or even removed. The Department has statutory responsibility for the sites and monuments in this list which are protected under Article 3 of the Historic Monuments and Archaeological Objects (NI) Order 1995. They are and are listed in alphabetical order of townland name within each county. The Schedule of Historic Monuments at April 2016 This schedule is compiled and maintained by the Department and is available for public consultation at the Monuments and Buildings Record, Waterman House, 5-33 Hill Street, Belfast BT1 2LA. Additions and amendments are made throughout each year and this list supersedes all previously issued lists. To date there are 1,977 scheduled historic monuments. It is an offence to damage or alter a scheduled site in any way. No works should be planned or undertaken at the sites listed here without first consulting with Historic Environment Division and obtaining any necessary Scheduled Monument Consent.     Final Report 1: Baseline Characterisation of Groundwater, Surface Water and Aquatic Ecosystems 5 Identification of Potential Water-based Receptors Potential receptors of UGEE-related contamination are surface water and groundwater bodies, water supplies (abstractions) that source water from surface and groundwater resources, registered protected areas, and groundwater dependent terrestrial ecosystems (GWDTEs). This section describes potential water-based receptors that are present in each of the case study areas, which depend on the surface and groundwater resources described in Sections 2 and 3. Surface and groundwater resources are inherently linked. Groundwater provides baseflow and supporting conditions for streams, lakes and GWDTEs which is especially important during prolonged dry weather conditions. Daly and Craig (2009) estimated that more than 30% of the annual average stream flow in Ireland can be derived from groundwater. In low-flow periods, this contribution can be significantly greater, exceeding 90% in certain aquifer types. With regard to groundwater resources as receptors, there is no fixed depth which can be assigned to define when groundwater ceases to be a usable water resource. This issue is relevant in a UGEE context because of the risks of impact from hydraulic fracturing on groundwater quality. The UK Technical Advisory Group (UKTAG) on the Water Framework Directive (WFD) defined 400 m below ground level as a depth below which it may become increasingly difficult to obtain: a) adequate quantities of groundwater for supply purposes; and b) water that is of a quality that can be used for potable supply purposes. The 400 m depth limit was specified in context of WFD groundwater body delination purposes (to the EC), and should not be interpreted or regarded as a fixed limit for usable groundwater resources in either of the case study areas.
