On the other hand, only nine of the 40 proposals sent by Karnataka, one of the five proposed by Kerala and one of the two sought by Chhattisgarh were cleared. With these clearances, AP would have the highest number of SEZs for any state in the country. Of the 21 SEZs cleared at the meeting held in New Delhi, 12 are from IT and IT-enabled Services (ITeS), two from pharma sector and one each from auto components, apparel, leather, multi-product, building products, formulation industry and services sector. While 16 SEZs were accorded formal approval, the other five were approved in principle. The largest of these is a multi-product SEZ measuring 1,000 hectares being developed by Rassai Properties & Industries Ltd in Parigi in Hindupur in Anantapur. 15 most beautiful women in the worldCrazyFreelancer 7 bollywood celebrities with royal backgroundCRITICSUNION Recommended By Colombia Three SEZs being promoted by Satyam group under the name Maytas Properties Ltd have been cleared at Qutbullapur village (29.85 ha), Medchal mandal (14.16 ha) and in Serilingampally (15.92 ha), all in Ranga Reddy district. All the three are for IT and IT-enabled Services. Dr Reddy's Laboratories has clinched two of the SEZs, one in Medak district (105 ha) and the other in Srikakulam district (110 ha). Brahamani Infratech Pvt Ltd, a prominent Hyderabad-based group, has also secured over 60 hectares at Mamadipalli village in RR district for its IT sector. Similarly, Indutech Zone Pvt Ltd, which is developing another 60 hectares in Maheshwaram mandal for IT SEZ, is promoted by industrialist Shyamprasad Reddy with the backing of a Congress leader. Real estate bigwigs like Rahejas and Emaar group have also secured one SEZ each. Among the projects which have been deferred clearance are those proposed by Unitech Builders and Developers, Navayuga Engineering company ltd, Ittina Projects Pvt Ltd, GENPACT India belonging to the GE group, DLF Universal Ltd, Silver Oak Technologies and Dhanavantri Hyderabad Life Sciences Centre limited. Analysts and company executives ET spoke with said more than 10,000 drivers have left Ola and Uber in Bengaluru alone in the past two years, as the companies gradually lowered the heady incentives they used to lure the drivers. Also, driver registrations plunged from 300-350 a day in 2016 to 40-50 this year across Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi. Two years after the Narendra Modi­led government launched the mission to smarten up 98 cities by promoting economic growth and improved governance, the study has commended the programme. The London School of Economics study was conducted after the first set of 20 cities were chosen in January 2016 through a competitive process to initiate the mission.
