MESSAGE Pinarayi Vijayan Chief Minister, Kerala Democratic Governments by and large provide various facilities for the media with a view to enhance smooth communication between the public and the diverse Government bodies. The Media Handbook helps the media personnel to contact the right person in the Government to access the right information to avoid erroneous, partially correct or biased news which affects not only the Government but also the reputation and integrity of the media organizations. The handbook will indeed be useful to the government officials also. This government has recently launched a mobile application of the Media Handbook to facilitate easy access to the information in this book. The vigilant citizen journalists inherent in almost all Keralites will also be benefited from this. I congratulate all behind this 2018 edition of the Media Handbook. Pinarayi Vijayan 5 MESSAGE T V Subhash IAS Director, I&PRD, Kerala I&PRD has been bringing out Media Handbooks since 2007. We successfully launched a mobile application for the handbook in November 2017 which is widely appreciated for its convenient features, viz. search option, direct dialling and mailing facilities. Anyone can download the 'PRD Media Handbook' App from 'Play Store' of Android phones and 'App Store' of iPhones) and install in their smart phones. Our plan is to bring the number of printed copies gradually down to the minimum as part of our environmental concern. We request you all to kindly communicate to us any change in the content that comes to your notice or knowledge using the feedback option in the App, to keep it up to date.
