ROUTES DU BONHEUR the Mediterranean of Artists My Route du Bonheur... - Suggestions of itineraries to discover the world... France ROUTES DU BONHEUR The Mediterranean of artists Has any other region in the world attracted so many artists? Haveany other skies or seas so inspired painters and sculptors? From Cannes to Menton, the Côte d’Azur has attracted Chagall, Matisse, Léger, Cocteau, Picasso and so many others. Drawn here by the light, climate and because a dip into the azure sea and a breath of sweet mountain air can both be had in just one day, they all lived here on the Mediterranean shore at one point in their lives. And the magic is still happening. One corniche follows another amid olive and cypress 6 NIGHTS A concierge is at your service: trees, vines, exotic gardens and hidden palaces. Today, we visit the houses where in the from past these prestigious artists lived and encounter museums with appealing architecture. 4001 203 186 * The light is as beautiful as ever… 1 2 3 4 42 miles 25 miles 12 miles My Route du Bonheur... - Suggestions of itineraries to discover the world... 1 LA CROIX-VALMER — 2 NIGHTS ( 1 property available ) Château de Valmer Hotel and restaurant in the country. Nestled in a six-hectare estate, only 300 m from the sea and surrounded by organic vineyards and Provençal countryside, Château de Valmer is a former family guest house which has, over time, been converted into a luxury hotel. Owners of the property since 1946, the Rocchietta- Montloin family has spent a lifetime cultivating the art of hospitality. Guests can enjoy chic and cosy rooms, tree houses, private residences, and a Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant whose cuisine is inspired by the estate's own organically grown produce. An invitation to relax and unwind, guests can take a path lined with majestic palm trees to bask on a private beach facing the Îles d'Hyères or pamper themselves in the large heated outdoor swimming pool and splendid spa that opens out to the park.

Most records are made on retaining walls and historical fortifications. 60,5 % of the plants are indigenous, 7,0 % are archaeophytes, 32,6 % are neophytes. Wooded species, at least 20 (23,3 %) play a more important role compared to Central Europe due to the climatically preferred area in the western Mediterranean. Some further species which may grow spontaneously in joints are pointed out, however clear evidence could not be found. Introduction During a guided excursion in early spring to important gardens at the Côte D’Azur it was possible to study the vascular plants flora of numerous walls. This cursory observation is not at all complete but they are helpful to close gaps in our research project on ‘Biodiversity of walls in Europe and neighbouring areas’. Nomenclature and floristic status follow as far as possible NOBLE et al. (2016). The family affiliation of the species complies with CHRISTENHUSZ, FAY & CHASE (2017). List of wall-dwelling species of the Côte d’Azur Adiantum capillus-veneris L. – [Pteridaceae] Indigenous.
