In order to get the fee waived make sure to follow the instructions in the BOLD BLACK BOX at the end of each school description. You must request a transcript be sent through Naviance during the free application week. If you fail to do so, you will be charged the application fee. NOTE: If you are a student who receives free or reduced lunch, many colleges will allow you to apply for free anytime. Cost of Tuition > The average community college is 2 thousand dollars less a year than a university. Flexible Schedule > If you are planning to work while attending school, community college is the best option. They offer far more night classes than universities and more schedule options. Opportunity to explore major options > Instead of spending thousands of dollars at a private university towards a major that you are less than sure of, consider attending a community school while you are making your decision. Classes cost less, so you will have the opportunity to explore interests that you might not have otherwise pursued. Smaller Classes > Class sizes can be as small as 15 students. 1 Colorado Community Colleges offer guaranteed in-state transfer courses > Meaning that credit from these courses must be accepted by every state-funded university in Colorado. (Note: Only certain courses are guaranteed to transfer; check with the college to make sure you are choosing classes that will transfer.) Colorado Mesa University and WCCC (Grand Junction, CO) CAMPUS SUMMARY CMU is one of the fastest growing four-year colleges in Colorado and yet maintains a small class atmosphere while holding the cost of tuition down. Students value the personal education experience that cannot be found at larger colleges and universities. Mesa is a comprehensive, liberal arts college offering programs at the master, baccalaureate, associate degree, and certificate levels. Mesa students have very diverse backgrounds and come from over 46 states and several foreign countries. Once you have submitted your application, select the option to pay later by check. Make sure to request your transcripts be sent to Colorado Mesa through Naviance. Colorado Mesa University’s admission-based merit scholarships: In order to qualify for these scholarships, a student must meet two of the three criteria under GPA, Top, and ACT / SAT. Students need not fill out any further application. Just apply to CMU by March 1st. Fort Lewis College admissions-based merit scholarships Students that qualify for Merit based scholarships at FLC will need to apply for admissions no later than January 15.
