THE NEXT GENERATION FUND JEWISH CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS SUMMER 2021

The Next Generation Fund provides a camping scholarship of $1,000 for an 8 week or $500 for a 3 or 4 week overnight Jewish camping experience at the camps listed below. The scholarship is available for all children of Beth Hillel Bnai Emunah congregants. Proof of financial need is not required. We do ask that you consider not requesting a scholarship if you really do not need it. This will enable us to maximize our support of those families who are in need.

If your child is a first-time camper, a $500-$1,000 “One Happy Camper” scholarship is also available from the Foundation for Jewish Camps (www.jewishcamp.org). (The first child in a family receives $1,000, with subsequent siblings receiving $500). Additional funding may be available from the individual camps. BHBE also has designated funding available for campers enrolled in a camp sponsored by the Conservative Movement. Please be in touch with Aaron Frankel, [email protected], for further information.

Our scholarship will be paid directly to the camp. If your child does not go to the chosen camp, any refund of camp fees received must be refunded by you to the Next Generation Fund up to the amount of the scholarship given by the fund.

In return for the scholarship we ask that you and your child provide us with the following:

1) A few photos of him or her at camp to be put on display in our Camper’s Corner at BHBE along with photos provided by other BHBE campers; 2) A short essay describing his or her camp experience; and 3) A review of the camp and the overall camping experience including comments as to the strengths and weaknesses of the camp.
