They include Nelson Mandela, President Bill Clinton and Muhammad Ali. In a wide-ranging career Garry worked alongside Hollywood legend Richard Burton, while Actor Arthur Lowe, Captain Mainwaring gave Garry a telling off before a recording of Dads Army. -

Ian Salisbury (England 1992 to 2001) Ian Salisbury was a prolific wicket-taker in county cricket but struggled in his day job in Tests, taking only 20 wickets at large expense. Wisden claimed the leg-spinner’s googly could be picked because of a higher arm action, which negated the threat he posed. Keith Medlycott, his Surrey coach, felt Salisbury was under-bowled and had his confidence diminished by frequent criticism from people who had little understanding of a leggie’s travails. Yet Ian was a willing performer and an excellent tourist. Salisbury’s Test career was a stop-start affair. Over more than eight years, he played in only 15 Tests. Despite these disappointments Salisbury’s determination was never in doubt. Several times as well, he showed more backbone than his supposedly superior English spin colleagues; most notably in India in early 1993. Ian Salisbury also proved to be an excellent nightwatchman, invariably making useful contributions. His Test innings as nightwatchman are shown below. The Regional Emerging Warriors Program (EWP) tournaments and Talent Development Camps were successfully staged again thanks to CSBP’s support. England will be bidding to retain the coveted Ashes crown for a third straight series, making it a hat-trick of victories over their old foes for the first time since 1981. Australia have been all-but written off by the media and cricket aficionados and it looks like England's urn to lose! For over a decade, the English cricketing public would head into a clash with their Antipodean rivals with trepidation and could almost sense achievement if they managed to gain a solitary win from the five-match series but along with the Australian demise in recent years, the English setup has grown in stature and become one of the most revered teams in test cricket. Andrew Strauss and Andy Flower galvanised the English side and captain Cook has duly continued the positive mindsets of the players and his ability at the top of the order twinned with the talent of the likes of Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott and James Anderson has seen them create a magnificent spine to the test outfit. Like most other Aussie kids, Srihan spends his summers watching cricket obsessively and mimicking the bowling of his favourite players in his living room. Taking to the field has been more difficult for Srihan as he was born with a developmental delay. On Wednesday January 11th, Srihan’s dream of playing cricket at the MCG will come true when his favourite players from the Melbourne Renegades, Brad Hogg and Peter Nevill will train him one-on-one at the MARS Net Training Session. Leading disability service provider Scope has organised for 11 people, including Srihan, who live with profound disability to learn how to bat, bowl and catch at the personalised training session with the Melbourne Renegades. MARS Australia, the Melbourne Renegades principal partner, is sponsoring the event and providing snacks on the day to keep everyone going throughout the session.
