Other Regional Volunteers recognised were: Tony Lennox (Goldfields), Frances Archer (Kimberley), Wayne Martin (Goldfields), Phil Hayman (Pilbara) and Allan Faithfull (Mid West). Frances Archer was the WA recipient of the CA Volunteer Recognition Program (Sydney 19 January 2014). Toodyay was announced as the Regional Club of the Year. Insert below pic. CCB Recognition Award The recipient of this award was Brendon King. He was involved as either a player or a coach in 3 winning teams at the ACCC. CSBP Regional Junior Cricket Program CSBP continued their magnificent support of the Regional Junior Cricket Program in season 2013/14. The Regional Emerging Warriors Program (EWP) tournaments and Talent Development Camps were successfully staged again thanks to CSBP’s support. There are currently thirty six in2CRICKET centres and eleven T20 Blast centres in country WA. CSBP’s Regional Cricket Officers also established over 130 extended skills programs and oversaw forty eight T20 Blast school cups in country WA schools in season 2013/14. Waldron Medal – Tim Hutchison This award recognises the most outstanding Country XI cricketer on an annual basis. This season, Tim Hutchison was awarded the medal after a stellar performance at the Australian Country Cricket Championships (ACCC). WA Country XI and Colts WA Country XI travelled to the ACT for the Australian Country Cricket Championships and clinched the title. WA Coach Garth Nottle and WA captain Rodney Ford were named in the Australian Country Side following the tournament. It is WA Country’s fourth title in the last 16 years which is a remarkable winning percentage at the ACCC in recent times. The WA Country Colts had a disappointing season on the park with no wins in the WACA One Day League competition but blooded an incredible 27 players in this competition. Senior Country Week 2014 Senior Country Week remained strong with 57 teams attending the week-long tournament. Albany clinched the A section final against a gallant Eastern Goldfields. Barry Shepherd Medal The inaugural Barry Shepherd Medal, named in honour of the former Donnybrook and WA cricket legend (an initial inductee into the WACA’s “Gallery of Greats”), for the most outstanding player at Senior Country Week, was won by Matt Clothier from Albany CA. Junior Country Week 2014 Thirty five teams travelled to Perth to take part in Junior Country Week 2014, a remarkable increase of five teams in one season. Albany took out the A and C Section, whilst Esperance enjoyed success in B, Avon in D, North Midlands in E and Busselton/Margaret River clinched the Under 14’s division. Toyota Country Cup 2013/2014 The Toyota Country Cup was again held over two weekends to determine the best Association for T20. West Pilbara pulled off a remarkable win clinching the title in what was their first season in the finals phase of the cup. Brad Hogg Medal The inaugural Brad Hogg medal was presented to the best player at the Toyota Country Cup Final. Chris Johnston (Eastern Goldfields CA) and Julian Crudelli (Albany CA) were awarded the Hogg Medal for best player jointly by Greg Hogg, Brad’s father. Girls Country Cricket Carnival Fifty seven under 15 girls and nineteen under 18 girls competed in the Girls Country Cricket Carnival (GCCC) in January 2014. The overall winners after finishing runners up in 2013 were Peel Thunder. Masters Cricket The O/40s Masters played their two annual matches against the SW Perdaman Academy and the Country Colts for the David Natt Cup. A highly successful carnival was held in Donnybrook and nearby venues where Harvey- Leschenault was successful in winning the Arthur Marshall Cup. Two O/60s teams participated in the Australian Championships held in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. It is planned to hold the Championships in WA in 2016. Perth Scorchers: Sam Whiteman (Bunbury), Brad Hogg (Tarwonga), Ryan Duffield (Collie). WA Under 17: Mitchell Jackson (Albany), Manuel Hunwick (Brunswick Junction). WA Under 15: Liam Dallimore (Dunsborough). Western Fury: Chloe Piparo (Bunbury), Gemma Triscari (Bunbury), Piepa Cleary (Port Hedland). WA Under 18 Female: Piepa Cleary (Port Hedland), Ali Overton (Capel), Meg Thompson (Busselton), Phoebe Vlahov (Geraldton), Samara Williams (Albany), Hannah Merritt (Bunbury). WA Under 15 Female: Chloe Wain (Dunsborough), Jazmyne Roberts (Busselton). .
