(3) 700 Page:7 Oct 20, 2019 CRICKET - AUSTRALIA - 1901 to 1927 (continued) Lot Type Grading Description Est $A Lot 48 48 COLLINGWOOD CRICKET CLUB: Team photograph '1906-7' with players & committee names on mount, noted TW Sherrin, EW Copeland (after whom the Collingwood FC best & fairest is named) & a very young Jack Ryder (who was Bradman's captain in his first Test 22 years later), framed (no glass), overall 92x77cm, some faults at top right. Lovely detailed historic photograph. 200 Lot 49 49 MELBOURNE CRICKET CLUB: Army trunk from WWI, inscribed on top 'LIEUt W.FLINTOFT, A.I.F., 58th BATTn', one handle missing, otherwise good condition for a military trunk. [William Flintoft played football for Melbourne 1909-12 and St Kilda 1913, and served as President of the Melbourne Football Club 1947-49. He played for the Melbourne Cricket Club 1909 to 1927, and served on the MCC Committee from 1937 until his death in 1951. During WWI he served in the First Australian Imperial Force as a Second Lieutenant in the 58th Battalion, and saw action in Egypt, France and Belgium. Fine condition. 100 Lot 51 51 MELBOURNE CRICKET CLUB: Honorary Membership tickets for 1927-28 (with number H174), and 1928-29 (with number H139), both awarded to Mr RC Bryant of Church of England Grammar School (now known as Melbourne Grammar School), and both endorsed 'Exhibitioner'. Fine condition. 200 52 FRED BARING: Match-used 'Jacques & Son' Cricket Bat with faint signature on the front in ownership position. [Fred Baring was a successful cricketer playing Sheffield Shield for Victoria, and managed 30 first-class matches 1911-29; he came close to playing Test cricket for Australia having been named in the squad to tour South Africa in 1914-15, but the tour was cancelled due to World War I. He also played 154 VFL games for Essendon 1910-24, and was named at full back in Essendon's official Team of the Century; he was a four-time premiership player and captained Essendon in 1918]. 150 Lot 53 53 BILL WOODFULL: South Melbourne Cricket Club drinks serving tray presented to Bill Woodfull with oval plaque 'To Mr W M Woodfull, from S.M.C.C.
