The sheep were taken out of Macey’s Meadow in West Malling due to increasing cases of sheep worrying, culminating in a ewe having to be put down earlier this year.Alan West, who owns the sheep, decided enough was enough, and took away the 18 animals who were in the meadow. He said: “We’d kept sheep there for there for nearly 20 years, and we’d always had the odd incident. We had to stitch the occasional wound and we once had to carry out an abortion. “But they have increased over the past year, with one inci- dent where a couple of sheep were chased over a fence. Then there was the time that a ewe broke a leg and had to be put down.
