Fogging done in the affected area. Health education given Case reported from Village Dokhora Bey Gaon, Bogijan, SC Koilamoti, PHC/Block Chowkihola. District RRT investigated the outbreak. State and District NVBDCP officials were informed. House to house survey conducted. Case was a 9y/F who presented with fever and headache. A single CSF Karbi-Anglog Japanese Under sample was collected and tested at DPHL AS/KAD/2020/30/386 Assam 01 00 11-07-20 24-02-20 (DIPHU) Encephalitis Control Golaghat was found positive for Japanese Encephalitis by IgM ELISA. A total 10 blood smears were collected and all were found negative for Malaria Parasite. Case treated. Medical camp organized in the affected area. Fogging done in the affected area. Health education given on vector control measures. 4 | P a g e Case reported from Village Kaman Chapori, SC Bogum, BPHC Boginodi. District RRT investigated the outbreak. State and District NVBDCP officials were informed. House to house survey conducted. Case was a 7y/M had Japanese Under presented with fever and later developed AS/LKM/2020/30/387 Assam Lakhimpur 01 00 13-07-20 20-07-20 convulsions. No travel history present. A single Encephalitis Control CSF sample was collected and tested at DPHL, NLCH was found positive for Japanese Encephalitis by IgM ELISA. Case treated. Fogging done in the affected area. Health education given on vector borne diseases and its prevention. Cases reported from Mahur, Village Kanabasti, PHC Urban Health Centre. District RRT investigated the outbreak. State and District NVBDCP officials were informed. The deceased was 39y/M was negative for Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis, Leptospirosis and Scrub typhus. A Suspected Under total of 03 samples collected and tested at DPHL AS/NCH/2020/30/388 Assam Dima Hasao 03 01 19-07-20 26-07-20 Scrub Typhus Control Dima Hasao, all were found negative for Japanese Encephalitis and 01 positive for Scrub Typhus by IgM ELISA and negative for Dengue, Malaria and Leptospirosis. A single CSF sample was collected and found negative for Japanese Encephalitis. All cases treated. Health education given Case reported from Village Nathudisa, PHC Maibangname, BPHC Langting. District RRT investigated the outbreak. State and District NVBDCP officials were informed. House to Japanese Under house survey conducted. Case was a 15y/M who AS/NCH/2020/30/389 Assam Dima Hasao 01 00 16-07-20 24-07-20 presented with fever and later developed neck Encephalitis Control rigidity, no travel history present. A single CSF sample was collected and found positive for Japanese Encephalitis by IgM ELISA result negative Scrub Typhus. All cases treated. Health education given 5 | P a g e Case reported from Village Nisilamari, SC Pachim Chamua Gaon, BPHC Orang. District RRT investigated the outbreak. State and District NVBDCP officials were informed. House to house survey conducted. Water logging and paddy field found in the affected area. The Japanese Under deceased was a 3month old female who had AS/UAL/2020/30/390 Assam Udalguri 01 01 22-07-20 24-07-20 Encephalitis Control presented with fever, belonged to lower socio- economic status and Japanese Encephalitis vaccination status was unknown. A single CSF sample was collected and tested at Tezpur Mission Hospital, Sonitpur was found positive for Japanese Encephalitis by IgM ELISA. Fogging done in the affected area. Health education given Case reported from High School B Ward Tuensang. District RRT investigated the Suspected Under outbreak. Active case search conducted. The case NG/TNS/2020/30/391 Nagaland Tuensang 01 00 24-07-20 24-07-20 was a 5 month old female presented with fever, Measles Control maculopapular rash, cough and running nose. Lab samples collected and result awaited. Case treated. Health education given COVID-19 STATUS COVID-19 was declared as a pandemic on 11th March, 2020. The States have been reporting the COVID-19 cases and deaths on a real-time basis and the same was being updated on the website of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This is made available on public domain and can be accessed through https://www.mohfw.gov.in .

    4. The Brahmaputra River 4.1 Introduction The Brahmaputra Basin which has derived its name from the Brahmaputra River is one of the most densely populated river basins in the world. It is located at a longitude of 82°-97°east and latitude of 21°-31° north . This basin covers an estimated population of seven hundred million people of China, India, Bhutan and Bangladesh. The Brahmaputra river is considered as an international river and traverses through several countries . It originates from the Kanglung Kang glaciers east of Manas Sarovar which is at an elevation of 5150 m. In Tibet where the upper course of the river is located, it travels 1625 km and then enters Indian territory through Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.It traverses 278 km in Arunachal Pradesh and 640 km in Assam. A total number of fifty nine tributaries are received by this river, twenty two in Tibet , thirty three in India and three in Bangladesh. Dutta (2001) says, “closer to its source it is known as the mutsung tsangpo, then the moghung tsangpo and finally the tsangpo while Chinese maps have it as the yarlu tsangpo-brahmaputra,"( as cited in The Assam Tribune, Nov 4, 2001). In Tibet the river is called by the name of Tsangpo and Yarlung Zangbo in China. In India it is known as the Brahmaputra, and Jamuna in Bangladesh. One of the major rivers of the world, the Brahmaputra is described , ‘ A river extraordinaire, the Brahmaputra presents a picture of awesome expanse, enchanting grandeur , over whelming sobriety and immense vigour' .
