TO THE SEA Find more pictures on our facebook page

This November the volunteers of IPSSA Texas once again headed south to lend a hand at Sea Turtle Inc. on South Pa- dre Island. This Hospital/Rescue/ Rehabilitation/Education center is in- volved with the reintroduction of the very endangered Kemp Ridley sea tur- tle. The Kemp Ridley were very numer- ous years ago but the over harvesting of the eggs and adults drove them to the edge of extinction. Without help they would disappear. Five of spe- cies of sea turtles can be found in the gulf - all are endangered.

This trip a small turtle was rescued from among the rocks at the jetty and a large green turtle was rescued after being hit by a boat. It is hopeful she can be patched up and set free.

Attending IPSSA members included Tina Slagle, Fort Worth chapter president, Gordon Slagle, Paul Nelson and Robert Noyes, Fort Worth chapter members, Dave Boyd, Tarrant County chapter, Jim Jacobsmeyer, president of the Houston Clear Lake chapter, also volunteering Ed Moore and William Carmona.

Manufacturing reps Heidi Amos, Pentair and Stan Crisp, Aqua Cal/Auto , were there TABLE OF CONTENTS dispensing useful information and lending a hand wherever needed.

Customer called, he said his motor quit working. Got there to find this, no wonder its not working.

NORTH TEXAS CLASSES

The North Texas chapter of APSP recently held education courses at the Edge SCP facility in Plano Texas.

Invited to teach their well known class, "All About Pumps, Filters & Hydraulics" were IPSSA Tarrant County chapter president Will Ainsworth and longtime IPSSA member Rex Godbee.

The class attendees were primarily service companies from the D/FW area, including IPSSA members from the Dallas chapter. Rounding out the class were familiar faces from JetLine distribution. It is great to see the industry working together to improve our profession.

Look for this class to be presented again at the 2017 Southwest Pool & Spa Show.
