Popular with parents, families and children, with many returning year after year. We regularly review our Safeguarding Policy. With three camps on offer, there’s something for everyone. A week you won’t want to miss! Junior camp aims to give every young person a fun holiday. It also aims to support and encourage young Christians who attend whilst sharing the message of Christianity with those who are not yet Christians. During the week we include: A bonfire on the beach, a day out off site (included in the price) and a themed afternoon with lots of activities. You’ll be told what the theme is in your letter so you know what to bring. A walk to Thorpeness on Friday afternoon with boating on the Mere. There are lots of other activities all week including inter-tent games. Come along and join us for a week of fun, food and friendship! For costs, please see the application form £30.00 must be sent as a non-returnable deposit, with the balance paid by 16th June otherwise your space may be re- allocated. You will receive an e-mail in May reminding you of the balance to be paid and an e-mail with details of what you need to bring. Why not come along and join us for a week of meeting great friends, eating great food and learning about a great God! Young and old, single or married all are welcome. The camp programme includes a range of activities for both kids and adults with children’s workers and organised activities each evening. We also encourage family time each morning and on Sunday there’s loads to choose from. From Monday to Friday there’s free time to explore the local area including Thorpeness and Walberswick or enjoy the on-site facilities including the beach. There are lots of activities and competitions - so don’t forget your bikes. We provide breakfast and cooked evening meals. You’ll be responsible for mid-day meals, although there will be bread and spreads available for sandwiches. To book your place, send £20 (non-returnable) deposit for each person over 3 years old. The remaining balance must be paid by 16th June or your place may be allocated to someone else. If you want to bring your own tent or caravan, there is a site fee payable. Or you can hire one of our large family ridge tents. For site fee and tent hire fee, please see application form. (There is no electricity supply for tents/ caravans). Clive Paine and Edward Martin Eye church and castle Eye, Church of St Peter and St Paul (Clive Paine) (by kind permission of Fr Andrew Mitchell). A church dedicated to St Peter was recorded at Eye in 1066. The church was endowed with 240 acres of glebe land, a sure indication that this was a pre-Conquest minster church, with several clergy serving a wide area around Eye. The elliptical shaped churchyard also suggests an Anglo-Saxon origin. Robert Malet, lord of the extensive Honour of Eye, whose father William had built a castle here by 1071, founded a Benedictine priory c. 1087, also dedicated to St Peter, as part of the minster church. It seems that c. 1100–5 the priory was re-established further to the east, at the present misnamed Abbey Farm. It is probable that at the same time the parish church became St Peter and St Paul to distinguish itself from the priory. The oldest surviving piece of the structure is the splendid early thirteenth-century south doorway with round columns, capitals with stiff-leaf foliage, and dog-tooth carving around the arch. The doorway was reused in the later rebuilding of the church, a solitary surviving indication of the high-status embellishment of the early building. The mid fourteenth-century rebuilding was undertaken by the Ufford family of Parham, earls of Suffolk, who were lords of the Honour of Eye 1337–82.

Site Specific Baseline – September 2014 Sizewell A Site, Issue 3 Page 2 of19 STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT Site Specific Baseline - September 2014 Sizewell A Site Sizewell Leiston Suffolk IP16 4UE Sizewell A Site Sizewell A Site (hereafter referred to as the Site) is a twin reactor Magnox station undergoing decommissioning, and is located close to the town of Leiston in the Suffolk Coastal District of the county of Suffolk, East Anglia. It is situated on the North Sea coast, from which it drew cooling water supplies during its operational phase, and is immediately adjacent to EDF’s Sizewell B Power Station. This site covers an area of 10 hectares1. The following describes the key dates for the Site: Construction of the site commenced in 1960 and electricity was first supplied to the grid in 1966.1 The site ceased electricity generation in 2006 after 40 years of operation.1 Defuelling of the reactors was completed in 2014.1 The Care and Maintenance Preparations (C&MP) phase of the decommissioning process is scheduled to be completed in 2027 at which point the site will enter the Care and Maintenance (C&M) phase.2 Final Site Clearance (FSC) is scheduled to commence at the end of the C&M phase.
