Rapid Tests for Employees and the General Population Continue – Information About Testing Units on 30 January 2021 As Part Of Rapid tests for employees and the general population continue – Information about testing units on 30 January 2021 As part of the strategy for the gradual lifting of restrictive measures, and based on the decisions of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Health is implementing a program of free rapid antigen testing for employees who will return to their workplace as of February 1. At the same time, in order to strengthen the monitoring of the epidemiological situation, ensure the operation of companies and reduce possible outbreaks in workplaces, the weekly rapid antigen testing of employees working in companies which are operating and / or will re-operate in the next period is rendered mandatory, on the basis of the strategic lifting of measures. The result of the rapid test is valid for seven (7) days unless, in the meantime, a person develops symptoms or is classified as a contact and should therefore follow the protocol defined by the Epidemiological Monitoring Unit. The employer/business has the responsibility of coordinating repeat checks for employees, so that at any time and on a weekly basis they have a rapid test, as defined below: — Businesses/services employing up to 3 people, all employees should be tested — Businesses/services employing between 4 and 10 people, tests should be carried out on at least 4 employees. — Businesses/services employing more than 10 people, tests should be carried out on at least 4 people or 20 % of employees, whichever is larger in number. The testing program for employees will be carried out at the same time as the testing program for the general population. In order to better serve the general population and employees, testing units will operate in 53 locations throughout Cyprus and on 30 January 2021 these are the following: District Location of testing units Operation hours Church of Agios Ioannis Eleimon, Lemesos 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Mesa Geitonia Cultural Center 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul, Kapsalos 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Lemesos/ Limassol Church of Panagia Evangelistria, Polemidia 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Church of Panayia Chrysopolitissa, Ypsonas 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Church of Agia Varvara, Zakaki 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Cultural Center of the Municipality of 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Germasogeia Church of the Apostle Luke, Agios Athanasios 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. settlement "Kouris" Association, Erimi 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Trimiklini Community Council 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Church of Agios Stylianos, Linopetra 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Multipurpose Center, Pyrgos, Lemesos 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. "Agios Georgios Kontos" Cultural Center, Larnaka 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Larnaka Municipal Theater 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Apostolos Pavlos Church, Larnaka (Krasas area) 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Hall of the "Agios Savvas" Cultural Center, 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Livadia Dromolaxia Municipal Amphitheater 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Larnaka "Omonia Aradippou" Association, Aradippou 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Palaio Pantopoleio building, Xylotympou 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Ormidia Community Council 1.30 pm-6.30 pm Kofinou Cultural Center 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Kornos Community Clinic 1.30 pm-6.30 pm Athienou Indoor Sports Hall 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Old Community Council of Oroklini (1 Armonias 1.30 pm-6.30 pm Street) State Fair, Engomi (in front of the East Entrance) 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Agios Pavlos Church, Agios Pavlos 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Agios Dimitrios Church, Acropolis 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Apostolos Andreas Church, Aglantzia (Kyrenia 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Avenue) Church of Panagia Evangelistria, Palouriotissa 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Church of Agios Georgios, Latsia 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Church of Agia Paraskevi, Lakatamia 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Tis tou Theou Sofia Church, Strovolos 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Lefkosia Agios Vasileios Church, Strovolos 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Geri Municipality 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Agios Georgios Church, Deftera 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Church of the Apostle Varnavas, 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Kokkinotrimithia Dali Health Center 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Agias Paraskevis Church, Ergates 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Peristerona Community Council 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. “Triptolemos” Association, Evrychou 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Church of the Apostles Pavlos and Varnavas, 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Pafos Former House of the District Officer, Pafos (Griva 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Digeni Street) Apostolos Andreas Church, Polis Chrysochous 1.30 pm-6.30 pm Pafos Multipurpose Hall of the Community Council of 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Emba Timi Community Clinic 1.30 pm-6.30 pm Church of Agia Paraskevi, Geroskipou 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Spiritual Center of the Metropolitan Church of 8 a.m.-6.30 p.m. Paralimni "Onisilos" Association, Sotira 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Ayia Napa Church, Ayia Napa 1.30 pm-6.30 pm Ammochostos /Famagusta Avgorou senior citizen’s club 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Ethnikofrona Somateia, Liopetri 1.30 pm-6.30 pm Frenaros Community Council 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Deryneia Adult Center 1.30 pm-6.30 pm .

  • Bird Watching in Cyprus a Brief Guide for Visitors To
BIRD WATCHING IN CYPRUS A BRIEF GUIDE FOR VISITORS TO THE ISLAND 1 Information on Cyprus in general The position of Cyprus in the eastern Mediterranean with Turkey to the north, Syria to the east and Egypt to the south, places it on one of the major migration routes in the Mediterranean and makes it a stop off point for many species which pass each year from Europe/Asia to Africa via the Nile Delta. The birds that occur regularly on passage form a large percentage of the ‘Cyprus list’ that currently totals nearly 380 species. Of these only around 50 are resident and around 40 are migrant species that regularly or occasionally breed. The number of birds passing over during the spring and autumn migration periods are impressive, as literally millions of birds pour through Cyprus. Spring migration gets underway in earnest around the middle of March, usually depending on how settled the weather is, and continues into May. A few early arrivals can even be noted in February, especially the swallows, martins and swifts, some wheatears and the Great Spotted Cuckoo Clamator glandarius. Slender-billed Gulls Larus genei and herons can be seen in flocks along the coastline. Each week seems to provide a different species to watch for. The end of March sees Roller Coracias garrulous, Masked Shrike Lanius nubicus, Cretzschmar’s Bunting Emberiza caesia, Black-headed Wagtails Motacilla flava feldegg and Red-rumped Swallows Cecropsis daurica, while on the wetlands Marsh Sandpipers Tringa stagnatilis, Collared Pratincole Glareola pratincola, Spur-winged Vanellus spinosus and Greater Sand Plover Charadrius leschenaultii can be seen.
