Owen Sound Little Theatre (OSLT) is a registered, charitable institution formed in 1961. Owen Sound Little Theatre’s mission is to be a quality theatre company that consistently entertains and challenges while stimulating participation in the arts through dynamic artistic and cultural programming with broad appeal. The Roxy is the permanent home for the Owen Sound Little Theatre and a vibrant regional centre for arts and culture. Of over 200 community theatre groups in Ontario, only 5% own and operate their own facility without any municipal operational funding. Owen Sound Little Theatre is one of these rare organizations. As a community theatre, OSLT is also ineligible for provincial and federal funding for its own theatrical productions. 2 Page Welco me ! The 2012-2013 season was a memorable one for The Roxy, with some 10,000 tickets sold for Owen Little Theatre Productions alone! Anything Goes drew in the crowds with an on-stage ocean liner and a live band safely stowed in a life boat! Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun was an artistic success, winning three awards at the Western Ontario Drama League Festival. The Donnellys was a sensation, with eight completely sold out shows and two visits from playwright Peter Colley! And The Importance of Being Earnest was chosen as a preferred event by the City of Owen Sound for their volunteers. In the past year, we also closed our 88 Key Campaign for the purchase of our new grand piano. We are also on the verge of a massive centennial renewal project for The Roxy Theatre which will cement our role as the premiere arts presenter in the region and key economic driver for Owen Sound’s historic downtown. Our audiences continue to grow, and we are meeting our vision for artistic excellence and sustainability. We continue to receive overwhelming support for our efforts to increase and diversify programming, and none of this would be possible without our supporters. On behalf of OSLT, thank you for your consideration and for playing such an important role in our achievements! Sincerely, Aly Boltman Theatre Manager 3 Page OWEN SOUND LITTLE THEATRE’s 53 rd ANNUAL PLAYBILL The series begins with the blockbuster musical Les Misérables . Once the effects of the new wave were fully absorbed, it became apparent that the world of singer-songwriters would never be the same again. A conceptual mood had taken over the scene, and that mood's predecessors were precisely the Bob Dylans, the Neil Youngs, the Leonard Cohens, the Tim Buckleys, the Joni Mitchells, who had not been the most popular stars of the 1970s. Instead, they became the reference point for a new generation of "auteurs". Women, in particular, regained the status of philosophical beings (and not only disco-divas or cute front singers) that they had enjoyed with the works of Carole King and Joni Mitchell. Suzy Gottlieb, better known as Phranc (1), was the (Los Angeles-based) songwriter who started the whole acoustic folk revival with her aptly-titled Folksinger (? 1984/? 1985 - nov 1985), whose protest themes and openly homosexual confessions earned her the nickname of "all-american jewish-lesbian folksinger". She embodied the historic meaning of that movement because she was a punkette (notably in Nervous Gender) before she became a folksinger, and because she continued to identify, more than anyone else, with her post- feminist and AIDS-stricken generation in elegies such as Take Off Your Swastika (1989) and Outta Here (1991).

A LIFE IN C MAJOR By CHRIS SCHUTZ Copyright Dr C.J.Schutz schutz(a,usinet.co.za tel. 021782 4244 2014 Cover design: Reinet Blignaut Cover photo: A Class 19D sets off for a long run: Courtesy of David Bern. Printed by Zip Print - Fish Hoek. FOR PIERRE, REINFT AND CAROL AUTHOR'S NOTE I have been blessed by my children's interest in my past. It is in response to their questions that I have written this account. It is the story of how Christ became the major influence on my life, and what happened as a result, hence the title of this book. C 772cz/.or is also a musical term and my favourite key when playing the oboe - a key without shaxps or flats. It also mirrors my desire to live for the Lord without my own discordant ,Sharps' or ,flats' . My daughter Reinet had asked me to describe my early years, "leaving nothing out." I have therefore concentrated on my history bc/ore marriage -after that my children were there, so they knew what happened! Nevertheless, I have added a brief overview of experiences from marriage to the present, just to round things off. As I grew up in the Age of Steam, trains have always been a part of my life -hence the cover photo. ACKN0lvLHDGEMENTS Reinet put in much hard work in improving some of the text, and also the art work for the cover design, for which I am very grateful. I am indebted to my wife, Milly, for editing, for encouragement and for tolerance.
