Philadelphia Flyers Preseason Game Notes – September 21 Vs PHILADELPHIA FLYERS PRESEASON GAME NOTES – SEPTEMBER 21 VS. TORONTO • The Flyers play the second game of their preseason tonight as they complete a home-and-home set against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Flyers opened their training camp on Saturday morning at The Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, New Jersey with 70 players participating in workouts. • Fifteen prospects were released from camp on Monday for the purpose of returning them to their junior teams. Fifty-five players remain in training camp as the exhibition slate opens. • Prior to main camp, 28 Flyers prospects gathered for a three-day “rookie” camp in Voorhees. This camp culminated in a 3-1 win over the Washington Capitals rookie camp participants before an estimated crowd of 11,000 at the Wells Fargo Center. • The Flyers jump right into their exhibition schedule with four games over the next four nights. After tonight’s completion of the home-and-home with Toronto, the Flyers will head to their sister facility, the John Labatt Centre in London, Ontario, where they will be the home team tomorrow night against the Detroit Red Wings. The JLC is run by Global Spectrum, which is also owned by the Flyers’ parent company, Comcast-Spectacor. The four-in-four set closes on Friday with a game at Joe Louis Arena. • Following a weekend of practice, the Flyers wrap up their exhibition schedule with three games next week – Sept. 26 vs. the NY Rangers and a home-and-home with the New Jersey Devils on September 29 in Philadelphia and October 1 in Newark. • The Flyers will open their 2011-12 schedule on the road, providing the opposition on the night the Boston Bruins raise their 2011 Stanley Cup banner in a nationally-televised game on October 6. They’ll then travel on to Newark to play the Devils on October 8 before coming home to open their home slate on Wednesday, October 12 against the Vancouver Canucks. • Tonight’s game is the second of four televised preseason games in the Philadelphia area. The Comcast Network will also televise Monday’s game against the Rangers, and the September 29 game against New Jersey will be carried on Comcast SportsNet. Philadelphiaflyers.com will feature a video webcast of the three other non-televised preseason games – Thursday at London, Friday at Detroit and Oct. 1 at New Jersey. Additionally, all seven preseason games will be aired on the radio on 610 WIP. • The Flyers have undergone a rather significant roster change this summer. A total of nine players (plus two scratches) from last year’s final playoff game have departed through trades or free agency, and have been replaced by no fewer than seven players through the same avenues. Among the key newcomers are G Ilya Bryzgalov, RW Jaromir Jagr, Wayne Simmonds, Max Talbot and Jakub Voracek, C Brayden Schenn, and D Andreas Lilja. • Chris Pronger was named the 18th captain in team history on the eve of training camp on September 16, with Kimmo Timonen and Danny Briere serving as alternate captains. Pronger, who has won a Stanley Cup and two Olympic gold medals, was previously the captain of the St. Louis Blues and Anaheim Ducks. Timonen and Briere also have prior captain experience with Nashville and Buffalo, respectively. PRESEASON GAME RECAPS Tuesday, September 20 – Flyers 4, Maple Leafs 0 at Air Canada Centre: Four different players scored and Sergei Bobrovsky recorded a 27-save shutout as the Flyers beat Toronto in the preseason opener. Zac Rinaldo, Wayne Simmonds and Mike Testwuide all contributed to a three-goal second period, while Sean Couturier picked up the second goal of his camp after also scoring in Thursday’s Rookie Game scrimmage against Washington. The shutout was the first for the Flyers in 108 total games spanning the preseason, regular season and playoffs, going back to the 2010 Eastern Conference Finals vs. Montreal. SEPT. 20 NOTES: • The Flyers used just two skaters in the game – James van Riemsdyk and Matt Carle – who dressed for the final playoff game of the 2010-11 season. • The Flyers scored their three second-period goals on just six shots. • Blake Kessel recorded 20:46 of ice time in the game. He was playing against his brother Phil, while the Flyers’ Brayden Schenn squared off against his brother Luke. 2011 FLYERS Preseason Schedule Date Opponent Venue Time (ET) Tue., Sept. 20 Flyers @ Maple Leafs Air Canada Centre 4-0 W Wed. CAROLINA HURRICANES NEWS CLIPPINGS • June 24, 2021 NHL Mock Draft 2021: From the Sabres through the Cup winner, Corey Pronman picks the entire first round By Corey Pronman The message out of Columbus is they need centers but once Seth Jones is dealt they will need centers and defensemen. We’re a month from Buffalo being on the clock so it’s time to Edvinsson, Hughes and McTavish are the names people start discussing how I think the first round of the 2021 NHL around the league think could be the pick at No. 5 with Draft will actually go. This mock will be 31 picks deep and Edvinsson being the one I’ve heard mentioned the most. there will be a longer one closer to the draft date. 6. Detroit Red Wings: Mason McTavish, C, Peterborough- This mock is less “intel” based, given a lot of teams haven’t OHL had meetings yet to put together their lists. The mock will discuss certain picks and how they blend with that specific McTavish is the name I’ve heard the most with Detroit early team, but readers should also use this exercise to get an in the mock draft season but team sources have also said idea of roughly what players I think will go at what range, and they think goalie Jesper Wallstedt or Michigan forward Kent what options their team could be looking at. This is not my Johnson could be the pick here too. An interesting thing with opinion of the players in the draft class. Those along with full this pick is both Johnson and William Eklund face questions reports can be found here.

The Chicago Bears chose Devin Hester with the 57th pick in the 2006 draft, nike nfl uniforms 2012, and they got a steal. Hester is the best kick returner in the league, new nfl nike jerseys, and he has a chance to go down in history as the best kick returner ever. Every N.F.L. team would love to pick this year’s version of Devin Hester. But does this draft have a Devin Hester? One surprisingly bold player is willing to say it does, and he’s it: Troy cornerback Leodis McKelvin. The Vikings clearly were unconcerned about the risks of a huge second contract for a superstar running back. We discussed that issue this summer, nfl jersey monster, leaked nike nfl jerseys, noting the relatively short career spans for running backs and the recent examples of big-time runners whose production dipped dramatically after signing their second contracts. Peterson has tallied 1,334 touches in his career, womens football jerseys, including kickoff returns, but has missed only three of a possible 64 games and has had no off-field issues that would compromise his eligibility to play with the league. Most NFL observers consider Peterson and the Tennessee Titans' Chris Johnson as the co-best running backs in the league, football jersey creator, but Peterson's deal exceeds the one Johnson signed last month. Johnson's extension averaged $13.3 million in new money and included $30 million in guarantees. Peterson's will average nearly $15 million per season in new money over the life of the deal, make your own college football jersey, in addition to the $36 million guaranteed.
