Dinner and A Book returns for 14th season with new guest hosts

The new season ofDinner and A Book begins Saturday, January 3 at 10:30am and re-airs on 34.2 on Mondays at 8:30pm. This year, the Rex and Alice A. Martin Foundation contributed additional underwriting dollars to extend the series to 20 new shows for 2014- 2015. In addition to the roster of outstanding guests, Producer/Host Gail Martin has added the following new guests: Jasminka Brechtel, Vera LeCount, Janet Reedy, Rebecca Espinoza-Kubacki, Tom Topash, Rev. Msgr. Michael Heintz and Evie Kirkwood. The season debuts on January 3 with Evie Kirkwood and a 125 pound pumpkin with the book, Garden of Marvels. From Bosnia, Russia, and Burma to native Potawatomi lands with Tom Topash, from Italy to Quebec City, London, Paris, and Florence The show is fully underwritten and has appeared in the top 20 local … stories abound. From the Muckrakers in American history to programs on WNIT. Gail Martin enjoys Alice and Rex Martins’ Nobel Prize short story writer Alice Munro to British spy masters sense of adventure, and WNIT appreciates their participation in – adventure, human nature and good food are everywhere. Rebecca Dinner and A Book for over 14 years. Espinoza Kubacki recounts the life story of Supreme Court Justice, Sonia Sotomayor; Laura Horst tells the Norwegian side of life; Come travel the world with Dinner and A Book. Doug Farmwald retells the foreboding Battle of Gettysburg; while Tuck Langland rediscovers the life of the grand piano in a small apartment in Paris. Kathy Freese focuses on the essential work of the Muckrakers; Alice Martin untangles the Medici web of treachery in Florence; and Gabrielle Robinson and Mike Keen lead the charge to discover the body of Quebec City founder, Samuel de Champlain.

This month the Supporter Spotlight shines its light on Mary Louise and Dr. Dane Miller. The Millers, through their generosity and efforts, have contributed greatly to the overall quality of WNIT Public Television in the Michiana region. Mary Louise currently serves on the WNIT Board of Directors. Dane has appeared on Dinner and A Book and has also been on-air talent for a WNIT pledge night.
