D. M. BLACK Good afternoon to o ur fans and a warm we l come to our visitors Formatine United for this Centenary Cup quarter final tie. It see ms a n age since our last home fixture - five weeks to be CHEM IST precise. In that time we 1 ve had four victor ies with one reversal.

The home game five weeks ago was a 6-0 win over Blairgowrie a nd PRESCRIPTIONS DISPENSED alt hough the opposition wasn't great I was pleased to see so me goals go in. We continued the following week wi th fo ur goals at COSMETICS, TOILETRIES Cu lter in what was one of the wild and windiest c onditions I' ve ever experienced but, despite that , I was really pl eased with the majority of our play with a couple of exceptions which I'm s ur e DEVELOPING & PRINTING wouldn't hav e happened in better conditions. 1 felt our ability a nd fi t nes s won the day.

BABY CARE The Lochee United defeat, if nothing else, brought home the mess age that if you don't score goals, you don't win games. Maybe I'm biased when I say it but it should have been at least 4 - 1 to Tayport by half-time. A deflected and I must say, 32 CASTLE STREET disputed free kick gave Lochee United so mething to defe nd whi ch t hey did to their credit and our frustration and detriment . And, of course not the greatest of preparation to take into a Scottish TAYPORT DD6 9AF Cup quarter fin a l . So, we took a gamble and arranged a friendly a Coupar Angus in midweek, a thing I wouldn't co ntemplate if we had continued in a TEL: 01382 552247 winning v ein. But it was import ant from my point of view to go into the Cambu slang game with a victory a nd a few goals under our bel t. We sc ored seven and a numb er of pl aye r s got valuable matc h practice and fortunately no i njuri es. The gamble paid off. ~ ?1k./!a,,r,e,,t,'a. It was quite d iffic ult for myself a nd our staff to have a clear Tooling fo r Ind ustr y picture of Carnbuslang , having only had one c ha nce to assess them and of course they used this to the ir advantage, leaving key c1uosp~rt; players out and playing to a system they hadn 't pla yed to previously. I suppose our team selection raise d a few co mme nts ------he re and there. One of our former co ache s made a profound BRILLIANT, PERSONALSERVICE sta tement to me which has always stayed with me . He said, • 'Davie, you need a team to get you ther e and a team to wi n it for SCOTLAND'S CRICKET& HOCKEYSPECIALIST you'. He was talking about a team which would battle awa y o n a E.P. muddy surface and on foreign lands and in hostile atmospheres • prior to neutral venue stages . We achieved that two weeks ago MAJORFOOTBALL CLUB KIT SUPPLIER with our 1-0 victory over Cambuslang . • So we've fulfilled the first part of that statement. I believe EngineeringCo. GARMENT IMPRINTING we also have at this club the personnel to complete th e second • part. EMBROIDERY& CLUBIDENTITY Last week saw us continue our winning way with a 3-0 wi n at • Downfield. Th is was a pleasing performance and really a fi rst (Dundee)Ltd. EXTENSIVE SOURCINGEXPERT ISE for games the week after the 'Scottish' in whi ch we norm al ly were • flat . THE CLUBSPECIALIST Today we have another great fixture and an opportunity to ad va n ce • RETAIL & to another semi-final . I don ' t need to remind our players that t h e only place that success co mes before work is in a dictionary.
