RHP JOEL PAYAMPS has a chance to start, but at worst they see him as a reliever with a mid- 90s fastball and two useable offspeed pitches. RHP BO TAKAHASHI doesn’t have much projection, but he has good command, pitchability and deception; three useable pitches; and a bulldog mentality on the mound. ATLANTA BRAVES RHP JOSH GRAHAM is a converted catcher who has a solid fastball/breaking ball combo but he has a tendency to overthrow, which has led to significant control issues. -

Paini (Ita) Revision 2015 by: P. Carpio (Esp), AM. Paini (Ita), L. Steijger (Ned) Acknowledgments I’d like to start with a thank you to Giancarlo Bianchi and Mario Fratticci, not only for their work, but also because they knew baseball and its rules so well and they passed their knowledge to me. There are other people who helped tremendously and at the top of the list there are Linda Steijger and Pablo Carpio: Linda is so insightful and she has done so much in the last three years and Pablo generously took time away from his job and family in the true spirit of friendship and passion, he never hesitated to point out the spots where he thought we have to make something clearer. Our meetings always ended with a last-minute reminder to add a word, a paragraph, and Linda had to change the pages again. Thanks to Don Darling (CAN), Jenny Moloney (AUS), Susana Santos (ESP), the Italian Scorers Technical Commission (Marco Battistella, Osvaldo Faraone, Stefano Pieri, Maurizio Ronchi and Marco Travagli) and the Copabe Friends [Andres De Leon (PAN), Carlos Del Pino (CUB), Oscar Izaguirre (VEN)]: they gave us a lot of suggestions. -

The 27-year-old recorded the best start of his career Wednesday against Washington. Facing the team that drafted him, he permitted just one hit and one walk in seven scoreless innings. Had he remained on schedule, Meyer would have next started Wednesday in Cleveland. Because of their recent off days, the Angels do not need to replace him on their roster until Saturday in Toronto. When the Angels acquired Meyer from Minnesota on Aug. 1 last year, he was recovering from a shoulder injury that had forced him to miss most of the season. -

PITCHING,BATTING,FIELDING RATINGS Explained
Arm Rating Page 1 of 1 Arm Rating [Arm] An APBA rating measuring the throwing ability of a player. Range is from 20 to 40, higher being better. Affects the ability of a player, especially an outfielder, to obtain assists in throwing out advancing base runners. Runners attempting to advance extra bases against fielders with high arm ratings do so at their peril. mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program%20Files%20(x86)\APBA%20Games\Baseball\WinLM.chm... 5/12/2020 Batting Characteristic Page 1 of 1 Batting Characteristic [Plat] An APBA rating of a batter's hitting tendency. There are four types: SA Straight Away PL Pulls Left PR Pulls Right PB Pulls Both (a switch hitting pull hitter) The Platoon rating (Plat) will tend to effect the direction the ball will take when it is hit by the batter. For example, a PL batter may have a higher double play frequency, because he rarely hits balls into the hole between first and second base, and because he bats right, he has farther to go to reach first base and his momentum is not in that direction, as it is for a left-handed batter.
