Will the Los Angeles Rams Land Ndamukong Suh?

Now that the New York Jets have taken their offer off the table, it appears the Los Angeles Rams are the frontrunners to land defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Suh was released from the Miami Dolphins and is still searching for a place to call home.

“The race to land the dominating defensive tackle shrinks back to three: the Tennessee Titans, New Orleans and Los Angeles Rams,” writes Kevin Patra of NFL.com.

“The Jets had the largest offer on the table, giving them a significant advantage before owner Christopher Johnson pulled the bid.”

Suh played in both Detroit and Miami before being released by the Dolphins. He is still a dominant defensive tackle still disrupts an offensive line and can get to the quarterback and stuff the run game. The Rams could use him along side Michael Brockers and the 2017 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Aaron Donald. What is considered a solid defensive line in Los Angeles would become even better with Suh’s presence.

"That can't be anything but good news for us," coach Sean McVay said Sunday, via Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times.

The 31-year-old Suh was drafted by the Detroit Lions second overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at Nebraska, where he earned All-American honors.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday on Good Morning Football the Rams appear to be "the team to beat."

"Time will tell, right?" GM Les Snead said Sunday. "I'm sure in all these situations there's multiple teams usually involved and you never really know when the other teams pull out or not. So we'll wait and see."

It was reported that Suh has met with the Raiders, Rams and Saints. All three teams are still considered contenders to land his services. The Los Angeles Rams believe they are in the driver’s seat given the locale and Suh’s off-field interests.

"We came away impressed with just the human being," McVay said of the visit. "He's got a good perspective.

"We're hopeful that a lot of the things he said he's looking for is kind of what our organization can provide. And hopefully we'll figure out soon if he's going to be a Ram or not."
