Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night. Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis. Jefferson County: Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway): Construction delays possible at the bridge over KY 22 (mile point 34.0) due to bridge deck restoration. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction during the majority of the construction work. Lanes will be shifted and the roadway shoulders utilized for driving lanes. Some lane closures will be necessary during the set-up phase of these traffic shifts. Lane closures will not be allowed on weekdays 7-9 AM and 3-6 PM. The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 55 MPH and double fines will be enforced. Eastbound Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway): Left lane will be closed on exit ramp to US 42 (Exit 22) as part of interchange improvements. This lane closure is scheduled for Monday, October 8th from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Eastbound Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway): Lane closures and delays possible from the entrance ramp at Smyrna Parkway to the Pennsylvania Run culvert (mile points 13.6 to 14.0) due to sound barrier construction. The right lane of eastbound I-265 may be closed during construction in the evenings from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. Shoulder closures are possible during daytime hours. During this construction work, traffic will be shifted on the entrance ramp from northbound Smyrna Parkway to eastbound I-265. The ramp will remain open. Interstate 64: Shoulder closures and delays possible at the Hurstbourne Parkway entrance and exit ramps (mile point 15.0) due to interchange improvements. Interstate 65: Lane closures and delays scheduled between I-264 (Watterson Expressway) and Chestnut Street overpass (mile points 131.2 to 135.4) due to bridge joint repairs. Lane closures are possible weeknights from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning and on weekends from 7:00 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday. Interstate 71: Lane closures and delays possible between I-264 and the Lime Kiln Lane underpass (mile point 5.2 and 5.8) due to interchange improvements. Lane closures are possible weeknights from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Shoulder closures are possible during daytime hours. Lane closures are scheduled 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 5th until 5:00 a.m. Monday, October 8th due to paving operations. Interstate 264: Lane closures and delays possible between the US 42 underpass and I-71 (mile points 22.1 and 22.9) due to interchange improvements. Lane closures are possible weeknights from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Shoulder closures are possible during daytime hours. Westbound Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway): Right lane closure possible between Dixie Highway and Cane Run Road (mile points 7.4 and 5.2) due to sound barrier installation. The entrance ramp from Dixie Highway to westbound I-264 may be closed weeknights from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. US 31W (Dixie Highway): Lane closures and delays possible between KY 1931 (Greenwood Road) and Interstate 264 (mile points 11.6 and 14.7) due to roadway resurfacing. Lane closures are possible weeknights and weekends from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. Shoulder closures are possible during daytime hours. Brownsboro Road: Shoulder closures and delays possible at US 42 due to roadway improvements and ramp construction from I-264. KY 22: Lane closures and delays possible between KY 1694 and Murphy Lane (mile points 4.4 and 5.6) due to roadway widening. Bullitt County: Routine maintenance Franklin County: Routine maintenance Henry County: Routine maintenance Oldham County: Routine maintenance Shelby County: Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays possible from the Welcome Center to ½ mile east of KY 55 (mile points 27.9 to 32.8) due to roadway widening. Lane closures are possible Sunday - Friday from 7:00 p.m. each evening until 5:00 a.m. the following morning and on Saturdays from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. The eastbound exit to KY 55 South (Exit 32A) is closed for several months due to ramp construction. Motorists can use Exit 32B to access both KY 55 North and South Spencer County: Routine maintenance Trimble County: US 421: Construction delays possible near the bridge over the Ohio River (mile points 18.7 to 19.2). Roadwork is underway approaching the bridge and will continue through the end of November. One lane will be open in each direction during this phase of construction. The Milton-Madison Bridge is posted for a 3-ton weight limit. Vehicles in excess of 36 feet in length are also restricted due to the limited turn radius of the temporary ramps.
