In order to support you in your research and in addition to our Guidelines on the main libraries and archives in Berlin, the following list provides links to major research databases, encyclopedia, digital libraries and archives with open access for document retrieval. The focus is on digital collections primarily in the fields of Arts and Humanities that are available in Germany and in Europe. As you are familiar with U.S. digital research resources and databases, we do not list them, but for convenience include some links to major collections in the U.S. To give you access to information and material relevant for historical research, we have included some bibliographic databases and databases providing bibliographic information as well as tools to search the rich collections of Berlin museums.
