Charles “Buzz” Verduzco begins his 14th season at the helm of the Missouri West- Washington State. ern baseball team in 2013. The Griffons had another solid season finishing second in the MIAA for the first time since 2005. In 2005, the Griffons made its second appearance in the Mid-America Intercol- legiate Athletics Association Postseason Tournament and won 33 games for the VERDUZCO’S RECORD second straight year, going 33-22 and finishing 3rd in the MIAA standings. 2000 - 21-31, 13-18 MIAA 2001 - 21-23, 12-18 MIAA In 2004, Verduzco led the Griffons to a 33-18 overall record and has pushed the 2002 - 25-20, 15-16 MIAA program to four straight winning seasons for the first time since 1978-80. In 2003, 2003 - 29-22, 16-14 MIAA Missouri Western went 29-22 overall and advanced to the MIAA postseason 2004 - 33-18, 17-14 MIAA championship. 2005 - 33-22, 21-10 MIAA 2006 - 31-25, 21-9 MIAA In 2002, Verduzco guided the Griffons to a 25-20 overall record and was 15-8 in 2007 - 28-23, 21-14 MIAA MIAA play. This marked the first winning season for Verduzco at Missour West- 2008 - 25-24, 22-14 MIAA ern. Since then he has had a winning season in 10 of 11 seasons. 2009 - 34-22, 22-16 MIAA 2010 - 22-23, 16-22 MIAA A native of Stockton, California, Verduzco came to Missouri Western from 2011 - 26-25, 24-19 MIAA Washington State University where he was an assistant for the Cougar program for 2012 - 34-17, 26-12 MIAA over 10 seasons. He served as the Cougars’ hitting and outfield coach as well as the 2013 - 9-3, 5-0 MIAA primary recruiting coordinator. Verduzco also directed the Cougar baseball camps and was the coordinator of alumni relations for the NCAA Division I program. Overall: 371-298 Verduzco earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Washington State in MIAA Record: 251-196 1985. Verduzco played and coached under legendary coach “Bobo” Brayton at
