  • Nba Announces Affiliations with Nba Development League for 2010-11 Season
NBA ANNOUNCES AFFILIATIONS WITH NBA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE FOR 2010-11 SEASON - Dallas Mavericks Begin Affiliation with Frisco-Based Texas Legends - NEW YORK , July 6, 2010 – The National Basketball Association and the NBA Development League, the official minor league of the NBA, today announced the affiliation system for the 2010-11 season, including first-time affiliations between the Dallas Mavericks and the Frisco-based Texas Legends, new to the NBA D-League for the 2010-11 season; the Los Angeles Lakers and the Bakersfield Jam; the Golden State Warriors and the Reno Bighorns; and the Orlando Magic and the New Mexico Thunderbirds. For the sixth consecutive year, each NBA team has one NBA D-League affiliate to which it may assign players in their first or second NBA season. “The direct affiliation between NBA and NBA D-League teams continues to benefit players, coaches, and basketball fans," said Dan Reed, NBA D-League President. "Nearly one-third of all NBA Draft picks have played for their NBA D-League affiliate since the program's inception, and these affiliate relationships are a key reason why 20 percent of all NBA players have NBA D-League playing experience." Entering the sixth year of direct affiliations between NBA and NBA D-League, a number of teams continue to build on strong affiliation relationships developed over past seasons. The Washington Wizards begin their fifth year as the parent club of the Dakota Wizards (Bismarck, N.D.), while the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sioux Falls Skyforce (S.D.) have also been affiliated since the 2006-07 season.

  • The Dr. Alister Mackenzie Chronology (2018)
The Dr. Alister MacKenzie Chronology th The 20 Revision October 2018 The MacKenzie Chronology Project The Project In the late 1990’s Nick Leefe and Bob Beck launched an effort to document the physical presence and movements of the great architect Dr. Alister MacKenzie. That effort sparked club secretaries, historians, architects, professional writers, enthusiasts – in short, a global community of MacKenzie admirers – to share their knowledge. This, the 20th Revision of “The Dr. Alister MacKenzie Chronology,” is the latest product of that collective and continuing generosity, and once again expands upon the previous revision. Why are MacKenzie’s whereabouts important? A timeline establishes a foundation of fact. Upon this foundation researchers can build their narratives of history. Without this fact base, large gaps in time appear, and speculation is the all too-common and unfortunate result - the quality of scholarship is impoverished. The ramifications can be significant - original design features and perhaps entire courses disappear or suffer disfiguration, writings are misunderstood or misinterpreted, attributions are missed or made improperly. As readers, as golfers, and as caretakers of the game of golf, we suffer. This survey intends to give the reader an insight into the growing industry of sports-related legal issues and to highlight the most recent developments in sports law. To better assist the reader, this survey is arranged alphabetically by the specific substantive area of law associated with each sports law case. ADMINISTRATIVE LAW Administrative law covers the actions of the federal, state, and local governments, such as adjudicating, rulemaking, and regulatory enforcement. Sports law cases rarely involve administrative law, but one occurred in 2012. Salt Lake City Corp. v.
