  • Rogan's List 2019
Rogan’s List 2019 Greetings WFU parents! Fond thanks to the many of you who recommended this book or that movie or the new restaurant in your home city. Keep ‘em coming! Parents who’ve seen this previously skip this graf, but if you’re new to this odd enterprise: three inspirations converged a dozen-plus years ago. As a still-singleton, felt a response was necessary to my expanding circle of married-with-kids friends’ annual Holiday Letters, tinged with a certain “here’s how life works”-ness. And I loved pal Drew Littman’s roundup of his fave movies/books of the year (Drew also originated the B game/A game you’ll see on next page). Third, I grew up with Roger Angell’s annual New Yorker rhyming ‘poem’ of boldface names, & added my own pale imitation after Angell stopped…then NYer’s Ian Frazier picked up the tradition. Shifted therefore to a ‘found poem’ of lines from songs by millennial/rising-generation musicians; this year’s is after the best-of music page below. Speaking of poems, a stanza from one long beloved, WS Merwin’s To the New Year: so this is the sound of you here and now whether or not anyone hears it this is where we have come with our age our knowledge such as it is and our hopes such as they are invisible before us untouched and still possible On to my favorites of 2019. To adapt a venerable Welsh saying, may the best artistic creations of the decade just ending be the worst of the next.

I am pleased to present our highlights of the past year to our Members, thank you for your support and encouragement. Despite our COVID-19 closure to the public, from March 17 to May 27, The Ringling accomplished a number of major projects in the 2019–2020 fiscal year. Most notably the Museum achieved its reaccreditation from the American Alliance of Museums (AAM). The year-long process to achieve reaccreditation is rigorous and focused on a self-study that reviews all aspects of our operations. The process and our final site review were both extremely successful and resulted in our reaccreditation through 2030. AAM has requested the use of a number of our core documents as examples of best practice to be shared with other museums and The Ringling was commended for the highly collaborative involvement of staff and board members in the reaccreditation process.

____________________________________________________________________________________ Official Site | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Spotify ____________________________________________________________________________________ M O S A W I L D BIOGRAPHY 2019 The sofa that Mosa Wild are gathered on in the living room of guitarist Alex Stevens' family home in Ashford is not spacious enough for four grown men to sit on, but Mosa Wild will always make room for one another. Theirs is a pact that has strengthened through both adversity and communal ambition as they've deepened their bond and brotherhood. It's a fraternity firmly rooted in friendship but its origins were in urgency; an urgency to realise the most immersive, nuanced and passionate vision for vocalist and songwriter Jim Rubaduka's storytelling. Via bassist Edwin Ireland and drummer Charlie Campbell, Jim and Alex – who met at school – found the missing pieces to a puzzle they'd been faced with while getting a taste for performing and figuring out music's pow- er for a certain kind of social currency… “I remember Jim supporting a band and I didn't know he could sing or play guitar. But the two songs he played were absolute bangers,” says Alex, bigging him up. The front- man taught himself how to sing. At home he and his brother would make mixtapes in their joint bedroom while recording songs off the radio. “I remember making a mixtape for a crush when I was about eight-years-old.” What was on the tape? “Do you know Babyface?” he laughs. The landscape of British music when Jim and Alex started playing together was heavily influenced by a new wave of excitingly progressive British guitar bands: Bombay Bicycle Club, Foals, The Maccabees to name a few.

  • Maxo Kream Brandon Banks Deluxe Album Zip Download Brandon Banks
maxo kream brandon banks deluxe album zip download Brandon Banks. A tradition forged over industry history, the major-label transition is often the make-or-break moment for a rising artist. With commercial pressure looming, many artists are coerced into downplaying what makes them unique, stripping singularity in favor of mass appeal. Of course this has mixed results: while many artists find their place in mainstream culture, just as many fall by the wayside, frustrating long-time listeners. Fortunately for Houston-born rapper Maxo Kream, his RCA deal has not soured his style. There are a couple of radio-ready features -- Travis Scott limply croons "The Relays," while A$AP Ferg meanders on the thumping "Murda Blocc" -- but they're quickly forgotten amid the project's mix of no-nonsense storytelling and pounding trap, the sounds on which Kream has built his name. Instead, a higher budget produces a greater range of instrumentation; from the warped orchestration of "Bissonet" to the Rich Brian-esque "Brothers," Brandon Banks' beats are consistently fresh-sounding and apt in mood. Of course, Kream's staple storytelling is present. The rapper's best narratives have always addressed wider issues through a grounded, personal lens, and Brandon Banks is no exception: "8 Figures" critiques obsession through anecdotes of personal struggle, while "Brenda" discusses single motherhood in the same manner as its 2Pac namesake. This even makes for one of the album's highlights on standout "Meet Again," where a poignant letter to incarcerated friends covers broad strokes of street violence, broken families, and kinship. Building on the family-centric lyrics of 2018's Punken, Brandon Banks also gives greater insight into Kream's father, who used the eponymous alias throughout his life.
