Catriona Jackson Chief Executive, Universities Australia

Catriona Jackson commenced as Chief Executive at Universities Australia on 15 May 2018. A highly experienced advocate, Ms Jackson had previously been Deputy Chief Executive of Universities Australia for two years and is former CEO of Science and Technology Australia.

Ms Jackson has also served as Director of Communication and External Liaison in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor at ANU, and as a senior journalist and Ministerial adviser.

Ms Jackson has deep experience of the policy making process, having led Universities Australia’s policy team as Deputy Chief Executive and having acted as Chief Executive on many occasions, including giving evidence to Parliamentary inquiries and briefing key decision-makers.

Ms Jackson is Chair of the Advisory Board for the ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale Biophotonics, a founding member of the peak body for not-for-profit science groups, the Science Sector Group (SSG), and co-founded the National Research Alliance with the Australian Academy of Science.

Professor David Lloyd Vice Chancellor and President, The University of South Australia

David Lloyd is Vice Chancellor and President of the University of South Australia. A Dublin-born and educated chemist who specialises in computer-aided drug design, Professor Lloyd has re-focused institutional culture to position UniSA as Australia's university of enterprise and to shape its activities to better meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Professor Lloyd was a member of the South Australia Economic Development Board (EDB) from 2014 to 2018. A past Chair of the Australian Technology Network group of technology-focused universities, he now sits on the board of Universities Australia, the peak body representing the university sector where he is the lead vice-chancellor for research & innovation. He was also recently appointed to the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) Advisory Council to provide advice to the ARC on key research policy issues, to lend independent strategic guidance and experience that will strengthen the ARC’s ability to support research and innovation in Australia.

Professor Peter Rathjen Vice Chancellor and President, The University of Adelaide

Professor Peter Rathjen commenced as the University of Adelaide’s 22nd Vice- Chancellor and President on 8 January 2018. He is an Australian scientist and medical researcher internationally recognised in stem cell science.

Prior to his appointment, Professor Rathjen was Vice-Chancellor of the CEDA will be tweeting from this University of , where he was instrumental in creating vibrant new event using #HigherEd university precincts within the CBDs of Hobart, Launceston and Burnie. While at Adelaide as an undergraduate in the Department of Biochemistry, he was awarded the R A Fisher Prize for Genetics and the Morton Prize for Biochemistry, both in 1983. As a 1985 Rhodes Scholar, he undertook a DPhil at New College, University of Oxford, studying mobile genetic elements in yeast and mammals.

Professor Colin Stirling Vice Chancellor and President, Flinders University

Professor Stirling’s career provides a strong foundation for his ambitions for the University. Born and educated in Scotland he gained a BSc in Biological Sciences at the University of Edinburgh followed by a PhD in genetics from Glasgow University.

Professor Stirling was then awarded a NATO Research Fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley before joining the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom where he was appointed Professor of Genetics in 1998. During his time at Manchester he was awarded a number of prestigious prizes and awards including the Jenner Research Fellowship from the Lister Institute of Preventative Medicine, a Wolfson Research Fellowship from the Royal Society, the Balfour Prize from the Genetics Society and the Fleming Award from the Society for General Microbiology. He was appointed Education Dean in the Faculty of Life Sciences at Manchester in 2001, then Associate Vice-President eLearning in 2007 and Vice-President for Teaching and Learning in 2008.

Throughout his academic career, Professor Stirling has established a record of leadership, innovation and successful change management in Higher Education.

Kevin O’Sullivan Chief Executive Officer, UniSuper

As Chief Executive Officer, Kevin is responsible for developing, leading and implementing corporate strategy and culture. He is also accountable for the overall services and operational management of UniSuper Management nationally.

Kevin joined UniSuper in July 2013 and has more than 30 years’ experience in the superannuation and actuarial sectors. A qualified actuary, Kevin’s previous role was Director, Actuarial and Benefits Consulting at Russell Investments. Kevin has a degree in Commerce, is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA), a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).

Christine Molitor Chief Executive, Scope Global

Christine Molitor is the Chief Executive Officer of Scope Global Pty Ltd, a company with twenty-five years history in delivering international development and international education programs around the world. Scope Global employs 100 staff in Adelaide and engages over 200 personnel world-wide through eight regional offices in the Pacific, East and South Asia.

Christine has a successful career as a senior executive leader and board member, with a flair for improving business performance and long term organisational capability. Christine holds a degree in Psychology from Flinders University and an MBA from the University of Adelaide. She is the immediate past Chair of CanDo4Kids – one of South Australia’s oldest not for profit organisations that provides services to hearing and sight impaired children and their families, and she is also a Board Member of the Royal Deaf Society of SA which provides services to the adult deaf community.
