Frantic Assembly Announce Full Casting for I Think We Are Alone PRESS RELEASE – Friday 8 November 2019 Twitter/ Facebook / Instagram / Website NEW IMAGES CAN BE DOWNLOADED HERE FRANTIC ASSEMBLY ANNOUNCE FULL CASTING FOR I THINK WE ARE ALONE A Frantic Assembly and Theatre Royal Plymouth Production, co-produced with Curve I Think We Are Alone © Perou Chizzy Akudolu, Charlotte Bate, Polly Frame, Caleb Roberts, Simone Saunders and Andrew Turner will star in the world premiere of I Think We Are Alone. Frantic Assembly today announced the full casting for I Think We Are Alone, a major new play by Sally Abbott (The Coroner, Vera), co-directed by Kathy Burke (Lady Windermere’s Fan, The Retreat) and Scott Graham (Fatherland, Things I Know to be True). The work will premiere at Theatre Royal Plymouth on 3rd February and tour to venues including Theatre Royal Stratford East, The Lowry, Nuffield Southampton, Bristol Old Vic, and Leicester’s Curve in Spring 2020. The production sits at the centre of a year of programming celebrating 25 years of Frantic Assembly. Chizzy Akudolu (Edmond De Bergerac, Holby City), Charlotte Bate (On The Other Hand We’re Happy, Daughterhood), Polly Frame (Solaris, After Edward & Edward II), Caleb Roberts (She Ventures and He Wins, Richard III), Simone Saunders (Hang, Jane Eyre) and Andrew Turner (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Coronation Street) will perform in this delicate and uplifting new play about our fragility, resilience and need for love and forgiveness. Two sisters (Charlotte Bate & Polly Frame) are estranged and bicker over text. Their brittle and aggressive language is pushing them further apart when what they really want is to meet, clear the air and talk about the events that happened when they were young girls and haunt them still. Josie (Chizzy Akudolu) is not allowing grief to get in the way. All of her focus is on what is best for her son, Manny (Caleb Roberts). She desperately wants him to fly but can she let him go? There is a person shaped hole in Graham’s heart (Andrew Turner) and it is driving him to some dark places. When a stranger returns an act of kindness both find themselves opening up and connecting in a way that might just bring a bit of light in. I Think We Are Alone is a bittersweet and funny take on our ache to connect with those voices we need to hear again, those arms we need to feel around us and those faces we need to see again. It is about letting go and holding on to what we love the most. The production is designed by Morgan Large with lighting by Paul Keogan, sound by Ella Wahlstrom and casting by Will Burton. • PRESS RELEASE Straight to Audience Productions and Passion
Immediate release | Sept 2018 PRESS RELEASE Straight to Audience Productions and Passion Place and Purpose presents Angie Le Mar’s Take Me Back – 2018 tour Written and directed by Angie Le Mar Luton | Birmingham | Sheffield | London Written and directed by acclaimed multi-award winning comedienne ANGIE LE MAR, the hit gospel musical production, Take Me Back, is embarking on a national tour, after its sell out success earlier this year, which kicks off during Black History Month. "A nostalgic, enticing, masterpiece of a play" Take Me Back, tells the story of two young girls, Patricia and Andrea, whose friendship was forged whilst attending church with their mothers. Their life experiences led them down different, separate and painful paths, only for them to return to the church and faith of their childhood. When their friendship came to an end, life took over, dreams were broken and heartaches grew, many questions asked! A journey through, love, laughter and tears, who will ever understand the power of forgiveness? Shining a rare spotlight on life within black community churches, this is a ‘must see’, emotional roller coaster of a show that gives insight into experiences that often go unspoken or are kept hidden from public glare. “Heart-warming and uplifting” Ronke Lawal, Afridiziak Theatre News Angie Le Mar, said: “A lot of people might think ‘oh it’s a church play, it’s not for me’ or they don’t believe in God - this play is about real life, the Windrush generation, their families, friendship and mother and daughter relationships. There are things within the black community that we don’t like to discuss that this play touches on.

Immediate release | Nov 2018 PRESS RELEASE Written and directed by Angie Le Mar, Take Me Back – returns to London this December 4-15 December 2018 Stockwell Playhouse Presented by Straight to Audience Productions and Passion Place and Purpose Award-winning comedienne, playwright and author ANGIE LE MAR, is back with the hit gospel musical production, Take Me Back, after its sell out success earlier this year in London, Birmingham and Luton. “Heart-warming and uplifting” Ronke Lawal, Afridiziak Theatre News Angie Le Mar, said: “Take Me Back is for everyone. A lot of people might think ‘oh it’s a church play, it’s not for me’ or they don’t believe in God. This play is about real life, the Windrush generation, their families, friendship and mother and daughter relationships. Although, this is a hilarious portrayal of church celebrating the good times and the fond memories, Take Me Back, deals with subject matters that we don’t get to talk about and it’s time our community started to talk about them.
