  • Joint Statement from West Kent Secondary School Headteachers
St John’s Road Tunbridge Wells Kent TN4 9PG Tel: 01892 520732 E-mail: [email protected] Headmaster: Edward Wesson MA Website: www.skinners-school.co.uk Joint Statement from West Kent Secondary School Headteachers Open Events Following discussion, the Headteachers of West Kent Secondary Schools (listed below) have collectively taken the decision that for the foreseeable future all ‘Open Events’ for transition to secondary school in year 7 and for transition to the Sixth Form across our schools will be hosted online, not on our school premises. Whilst we all recognise the value of ‘Open Events’ in enabling students and parents to find out more about the educational provision offered at our schools, our priority during this current public health crisis is to ensure the safety of our schools and the wider community. Open Events in our schools are popular and inevitably bring parents and children from a wide area into relatively close proximity which increases the risk of community transmission. As a group of schools we are committed to ensuring we offer an online experience that supports all families to make informed decisions on school transfer. Each school will, of course, plan their online open events to take account of their specific context. Parents are encouraged to check the websites of our individual schools for further information. Item D3 Demolition of existing school buildings and provision of new school buildings, Hugh Christie Technology College, White Cottage Road, Tonbridge - TM/04/3388 A report by Head of Planning Applications Group to Planning Applications Committee on 14 December 2004. Application by Kent County Council Education & Libraries and Kent Education Partnership for demolition of existing school buildings and provision of new school buildings together with car parking areas, landscaping and temporary mobile classrooms, Hugh Christie Technology College,White Cottage Road, Tonbridge - TM/04/3388 Recommendation: Subject to the receipt of revised drawings addressing the matters raised by the Area Transportation Manager and to his final views, and the results of the bat survey, permission be granted subject to conditions. Local Member: Mr G Weston Classification: Unrestricted The Site 1. Hugh Christie Technology College is located in the northern part of Tonbridge within a predominantly residential area to the east of the A227 Shipbourne Road. It is on a site divided by a public right of way with buildings split between the two parts of the site. The northern part of the site has vehicular access from White Cottage Road and the southern part from Norwich Avenue. The proposal is for development of the northern (White Cottage Road) part of the school site, which is 6.6 hectares in area. It is bounded on three sides by residential properties with Cage Green Primary School located to the south along with the southern (Norwich Avenue) part of the school site. The school playing field to the north of the existing buildings (on the northern part of the site) is identified in the Tonbridge and Malling Local Plan as an area of Important Green Space, but the school site is otherwise within the urban area confines.

  • Please Note : All Recorded Crime Figures Within This Document Have Been Extracted from Our Crime Recording System on 30Th March 2006 and May Be Subject to Change
Please Note : All recorded crime figures within this document have been extracted from our crime recording system on 30th March 2006 and may be subject to change. The following report relates to recorded crimes for the period of 1st January 2005 to 28th February 2006. The crime recording system used by Kent Police does not have a specific field which enables identification of school premises. The means by which Kent Police has extracted the following data is through the use of specific wording recorded within the 'Modus Operandi (MO) Scene' field. Therefore, this data is based on :- 1) Those crimes that have been reported to Kent Police 2) Those that are defined as crimes and have subsequently been recorded by Kent Police 3) And, where the appropriate wording has been recorded in the 'MO Scene' field. Whilst the 'MO Scene' field records the crime as occurring on school premises, it does not necessarily reflect crimes committed within school hours or involving pupils/teachers. The data will include, for example, crimes to school property that occur overnight i.e. Criminal Damage, Arson and Burglary. It will also include crimes that occur in the vicinity of schools, but not necessarily against school property or within the school i.e. Theft of and from Vehicles and Theft of Pedal Cycles. It is also likely that a proportion of recorded Drug Offences will involve persons not associated with the school, but were committed on school grounds i.e. fields/outbuildings/sheds/garages. Although the crime may have occurred within the vicinity of a school, it may not have been reported by persons associated with the school and therefore, the school may be totally unaware of the crime.
